Naaaaah. Since most likely I wouldn't have access to my gog account (seriously though, "wouldn't leave all the people that care" is the answer).
Step through? Pfffft, now why would I do something counter productive like that? I'd just lay in ambush with a net and a tranquilliser gun. If I can go in there and get stuck, then stuff can come out of there and be stuck here.
If nothing comes out then there's a good chance the environment on the other side is either too remote to be of any practical use to me or unable to sustain life in the first place, and thus there's no point in attempting the trip.
And no I wouldn't throw any equipment through the rift, since the moment it closes I wouldn't have any way to access possible recordings.

I'm in, thanks for the giveaway! :)

Vestin: A question: if you were to witness an interdimensional rift, a "portal to another world", that would only be open within a short timeframe and would not be likely to kill you (although - you never know with these things) but almost certainly would allow merely for a one-way trip... would you step through it ? Please justify your answer (even irrationally, if that's your take on the matter).
My life right now sucks, I'm paying debts that my father left me and my mom with and I've spent the last 2 years working only to barely pay my debts and we only will finish paying it in 22 years, add to that the horrible economic state of Portugal and so I guess that whatever is in the other side, can't be much worse than my life is right now.

Maybe I can find a green chick with 3 breasts :O

yes. you only live once...
id rather take my chances then have it weighing in on my mind for the rest of my life...
most irrational decision making made on the spur of the moment, have been some of the best times that ive had in my life...
Interesting giveaway... would like to enter. and the the answer to 2nd question is no since I won't be able to play my gog games there.

basically risk/reward ratio is too high.

Humans can only survive in very specific circumstances and the universe is populated mainly with hostile worlds. What's the likelihood that I'll die immediately without life support? Higher than the portal itself killing me.

I would, however, take a photo of the portal and share it with my physicist friends as a proof of concept. They will then toil for many years developing the technology to recreate the portal; the completion of which will allow me to finally visit the world where I will meet my future wife.
Yes, I'll enter, why not. But only if I'm sponsored by Red Bull.
BUMP!

I wonder if the gift will be Outcast... :)
No, I wont... too afraid of other dimensions. I like my 4 dimensions here :)

I'd stay here, thank you very much. I might end up in a world without beer or boobs. Can you imagine the horror? Or I might be trapped in a world with nothing but shrimp. I'd tire of that one quickly.
I would not jump through the rift, because of this.
Thanks for doing this giveaway Vestin!

Truthfully, no, I would not go through the portal. Fear of the unknown (but not fear of this giveaway) would stop me. Plus giving up everything here for nothing wherever the portal would take you to. The portal itself may also be harmless, but what about where the portal takes you?

Anyway, if I went through, how would I ever be able to claim my prize if I were to win?!
I doubt I'd go through a rift at this point. I'm still rather gimpy after brilliantly dropping a tv on my leg/ankle back in January. Knowing my luck, something would want to chase me, and in my present state, I wouldn't make for much sport in that regard.
I wouldn't jump through it. As miserable and worthless as my life might be it's still better than taking the odds with the unknown.
