shadowknight2814: Wrong; if you FIRST max out your companions (assuming maximum charisma), they'll be added in PAST the limit (if you get the shotgun wedding before hitting the limit, they do count towards the limit). Throw them in some power armor, and they make excellent pack-mules. If you want to avoid combat on the oil rig, as long as you and all of your followers are wearing some sort of power-armor, they'll think you're all enclave and leave you alone.

KneeTheCap: So the leeson is: Use your wife as a pack mule. Got it :)
... You're just now realizing this? :)

DaCostaBR: Dragon's Dogma was amazingly inept at this. ...
I knew there was a reason why I wanted to play it! I mean aside from the fab lion fight in demo. :)

Phantasmagoria 2 - Nothing explicit but there is romance going on and it has BSDM club. Have I mentioned it's motion-caption adventure?
Dreamfall - There is a blooming romance.
Analogue: A Hate Story - I haven't played it further than demo but heard there is something possible.
Loren The Amazon Princess - Tactical RPG full of romances; kinda cute take on LOTR-like fantasy

Half Life 2, no not the scientist and Lamarr.
The Growlanser series.

Fever_Discordia: Oh, what about George and Nico from the Broken Sword games? Its cool, it the later games that they're an established couple and one isn't rescuing the other - you don't get that much in games!
Yep, although (WARNING: SPOILER FOR THE FOURTH GAME) by "The Angel of Death" by broke up and George began a relationship with Anna Maria, an ex-nun (!), its also the game with the most relationship in the series and an actual sex scene (though nothing graphic of course).
Resurrecting this thread instead of making a new one with similar question. Are there good games with meaningful romance interactions?

And the question in the OP still stands, do you know other games that haven't been mentioned here?
Another not exactly mentioned, totally focused on romance(s), Final Fantasy VIII. Not very well written and treated but oh, well.

Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2. NWN 1 just kind of had it in the background and mentioned it at the epilogue which was fine. The problem in NWN 1 was the expansion, that emo Tiefling loses his mind if you romance him, "my lovely love loving love what a miserable day it is. But we'll make it with love." NWN 2 suffers from the fact that they cut out half the intra-party interactions for various reasons. Bishop, Casavir, Neeshka, and Elanee were supposed to be romancable but only Casavir and Elanee made the cut. Which is really unfortunate because some of the cut dialogue was actually pretty good character establishment and instead you just end up with the standard tired clichés. I've heard Mask of the Betrayer was better, but I never got around to playing it.

Wait a sec, has the Bard's Tale not been mentioned yet? He's sets out to rescue the chick and get laid! That's the whole point. And it is hilarious.

I played Neverwinter Nights co-op with my friends, and I don't remember any romance... I wonder how I missed that?

Also Bard's Tale does sound interesting. Is it worth a play?
