Look, it's simple. I've been lucky enough to spend time around pro athletes...and none of them ever once started talking about how fast/strong/talented they are. I've spent time around nuclear physicists...and none of them ever dropped a single word about how brilliant they are. The thing that people find annoying Anjohl is your use of the word fact. Sorry that should be FACT as you always have to capitalize it for some reason. This latest rant about Gamersgate being a perfect example. You had A issue with them and now Gamersgate are liars and thieves and despite the fact that the issue only happened to YOU and your friend Gamersgate are liars and thieves FACT. For some reason even though no one else agrees with you you are right because it happened to you.
You say that you are happy with Steam yet I had a well doccumented problem with them earlier in the year. 26 days I was without my account and all the games contained within because Steam made an error. This is a FACT. No one else had this happen to them for this exact same reason so do I assume that I just had one of those 1/10000 chances that never usually happens or do I start telling people that Steam will turn your accounts off and take your money because they are incompetant? Thats what you would do by all accounts and if you try to persuade me that you have had 5 years of happy use with Steam then I can call you a liar as I had the problem happen to ME and that is a FACT therefore you are lying.
Or I can assume that 9 times out of 10 Steam works the way it was supposed to and I forgive and forget. Just the same as you could assume that you had an isolated problem with Gamersgate and move on. Or you could bitch about them on a forum, tell everyone they are lying and say you are the only one telling the truth because you have a FACT.

You're right, Wolfox. My apologies for my part in skewing it.
Anyway, I picked up King's Bounty Armored Princess today, and the download was really good. Better speeds, and none of the massive fluctuations that hampered GG downloads previously. Very much an improvement.

I know it's an old thread, but this is most relevant place to post this.
I asked GamersGate yesterday what their plans were regarding download speeds in SE Asia, and they got back to me asking me to test the download speeds of a couple of new games. First downloading from the default servers for SE Asia (which I guess may actually be in Europe) and then from a new server in the US.
The results are quite clear that the new US based server is faster. I've gone from speeds of around 176 kbs to 375 kbs =) What's more, they actually let me keep the new games used for testing the download speeds for free (the new Downfall game and Divine Divinity 2). $80 worth of games for free. That's what I call amazing customer service.
If they can ensure these speeds from the US server for SE Asia, I'll be buying far more from them and far less from Steam.

It's not hard to see how they have earned that reputation of excellent customer service. Can't see how they are making much profit though as they have a habit of giving games away.
