Some of the maps do sound interesting since they break some of the normal rules, like one made almost entirely out of wildlands, or a couple with boats, which you can't normally get.

Yeah. I hope they add boats to the normal maps soon though so we can have islands and stuff.

The new gigantic map is pretty cool. I think the idea is it represents the "world of Elemental". It's very dangerous, very large, and not a whole lot of usable ground. A lot of barren ground and many things to kill you.
I received a mail alert for 1.10 and 'massive AI update' ... running it right now.
The v1.2 update is out too.

AI/Balance fixes, and other improvements and fixes.

Here is the FAQ:

It has quite a lot of great changes and one negative one (depending on your perspective): it is going to require Steam.

Good ol' Stardock.

What a kick in the balls.
Sweet :)

it is going to require Steam. However, it will require Steam to get updates. http://forums.elementalgame.com/439970

And FE:LH will be standalone expansion!
i am so done with this franchise. And with stardock in total. i'll be seeking a refund as a full game of E:FE is still unplayable on my machine. Integration for steam users would have been great. But requiring steam to get updates is not cool, and is completely counter to the narrative they were talking when i first purchased E:WOM. Oy what a long strange trip it's been. The steam requirement after everything that has happened since E:WOM, was just too much. i could be shocked but after two years of this, i rather come to expect that they'd totally reverse their position. When i bought E:WOM, brad wardell was preaching up that "we gamers" need to resist steams dominance. That competition was critical to the pc games industry and blah blah lie lie lie. Don't worry i won't let the door hit me in the arse, nor will i look back. /

For those who've played both, how does this compare to Warlock: MotA? I got Warlock over the weekend and enjoyed it despite the manual having virtually no information and having to restart on a whim everytime I figured something else out.
Anyhow, FE and Warlock had always been on my wishlist waiting for appropriate sales - just so happened I got Warlock first but still got my eye on this one, more so now with an expansion due.

I have Warlock with all dlc(5) and maybe played 20hours. Its not bad game, but short.
