That review is about as LH content filled as LH is ... he could've written the same review for Fallen Enchantress... Heck, he's barely touching on LH at all in it.
Haven't tried 1.0 (or 1.1 it looks like) yet. I was waiting for today's "official" release.

LH is the far superior game but it can honestly be argued if the updates deserved an expansion (worse, a stand alone expansion).

Overall, I'm pretty happy with LH. I still wish they'd have taken a different tactic with the release but it's a good game.

Nice opinion from steam LH forum:

I played a lot of games in my life, and this one is really amazing. In Civ i always get into some downtimes, in Heroes the fights and the overall gameplay is boring me but FE:LH is nearly perfect.
If you are searching a hybrid game between heroes, Civ and you love to customize your own units on the road this is the right game for you.
The game has the right pace from the first fight. The swarm game-mechanic is making even the first fights interesting. The pool of skills, equipment and units you could choose from is really big and even if you couldn't find the right unit --> Design it by yourself, and thats not enough: If you like the AI could use your own designed units in later games against you.
I played FE a few hours (nearly 30 i think) and have now playes 10h LH, and the difference feels so good. Stardock polished the game at so many little edges that they have improved a good game to a real time-sucking-beast of a game.

1. To install the Children of Storm mod, extract all the folders to Documents/My Games/LegendaryHeroes/Mods
2. Take the files in /ChildrenOfStorm_TacticalMaps/ and move them to Documents/My Games/LegendaryHeroes/Maps/TacticalMaps
3. Make sure that you turn on "Use Mods" in the in-game Options menu.

FE is a good game (7/10) but FE LH is much better (8,5/10 in my opinion). For me LH its a new Master of Magic.

New Gladius type weapon - Weaker than Short Sword in damage, but deals slight(15%) armor penetration, and can strike while in Guard mode @ 80% damage.
Scutum - zero Dodge, slightly stronger base armor, much higher Defense when Guarding, Much higher production cost. Also allows Testudo (not sure if works) where it adds rediculous amounts of dodge against ranged in exchange for skipping turn, and no bonus in defense.
Pila - Essentially a throwing knife, except the damage done is 40% of total units damage, leaves target 50% less in defense, and has some armor penetration. Costs a lot too. Also allows fortification ability.
New faction trait : Roman, Basically the required trait to access the above, and some stat changes.

Grab LH. Everything FE does, LH does better. A little pricier given that it just came out, but I doubt FE will get much more active development.

Also remember that people on Steam who own FE already can gift the game for half price, so it's $20/€15 if you do it that way. And yes, getting FE at this point is just a waste of money if you plan on picking up LH in the future.
