A pigeon dating sim 70 % off? Gotta have it! One less on my wishlist!

... Ehm, yes, I might have a few too many.
It is never enough!
I don't think: I see.

That's bad, man, really bad.
Even worse is having absolutely zero time to spend with such games :(
But I'm not alone, so that's ok :P

Fever_Discordia: Well I have too many games to finish them all in my lifetime, yes, but personally I see that as more a fault with the length of my lifetime, maybe I can work out how to report that to the devs so it can be fixed in Life 2.0...
My kids will surely enjoy my backlog!
:D
Holy crap, here I am, "complaining" that I have too many games. Hell!

nmorello11: Absolutely. Heck, if I could, I'd give quite a few away to charity (Next Feed the Children AD: "You can help this starving child by donating...a video game). My collection is rather conservative compared to some at:

94 on Steam (that includes things such as expansion packs, and other modes that have their own game link)
44 on GOG

Most of the stuff I will never play I acquired through humblebundles and other bundle deals, and I bought them because I wanted 1 or 2 of the games, and the bundle came with like 7 other ones. There were also a few games I got for free in there.

I do have a few that I'll never play that I bought straight out, but I think this is limited to

Syberia 1+2, Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines, and Cthuthlu Saves the World
Why will you never play Vampire Bloodlines?

Ok, I shouldn't say that I will never play it, it was just an impulse buy, along with the other games I listed. From what I've read, it's one of the greatest RPGs of all time, so I'll get around to playing it someday, just not today.
My backlog is so big it's become sentient. So do I have too many games?

*looks furtively over his shoulder*

No... not at all. I, for one, welcome my new backlog overlord!
Yes. I know I will never get to play half of them. Will it stop me from buying more? No. At this point I think owning games has become a game like pokemon. gotta catch 'em all.
Steam: 847
Gog: 81

I "might" have a problem...

Edit: The sad part is that i have this big list of games to play but not the mood, i end up watching pictures/videos of games and think "Oh, this looks amazing, i need to have this", buy it and let it "rot" on my games library...

Is the problem the sheer number of games, or the 10 to 1 Steam to gOg ratio? ; )
Well no, I don't think I have too many. I have 70 games on GOG, all the Humble Indie Bundles, 7 on Steam (Bought dirty cheap - I believe I have already too many on Steam). Also I have 50+ games on retail box editions. I'm no collector. I play them all. One by one. Depending on mood & season. :-)

Heh, i don't have a problem with drm and i know that i'll die before Steam stops existing so i'm ok with it. But for all that it's worth, recently i started buying more games on Gog than on Steam (unless it's not available here).
Besides, most of my Steam games comes from bundles and also most of them are on my trash tag/folder.
yup. But I view gaming like watching TV. Would you enjoy TV if you could only watch 1 thing until you finished that? My cable company provides hundreds of channels all at once. Why? because my moods and tastes change frequently. Cheap bundles have definitely caused my shelf to bloat, but they are all there for a single purpose... one day I might feel like playing them.

My wife keeps telling me that I'm wasting money because I'll never be able to play all of my games. Perhaps. But I know for a fact she can't watch 200 tv channels at the same time. Its there for when I need it. And as often as I get sick, its awesome to exert very little effort to play whatever I want when I'm feeling crumby.
By my list
49 Physical PC games on CD
189 games on GOG
72 games on Steam
27 games on Desura
25 DRM Free games
8 3DS games with 7 downloads not in other groups
24 games GBA and Gameboy and Gameboy Color
26 DS games.
23 PSP games
35 Wii Games
24 N64 Games
42 PS2 games
19 Gamecube Games
38 Xbox Games
56 Xbox 360 Games
24 Genesis games
47 NES Games
29 SNES games
40 PS1 games.

........... Maybe? Mind I don't have the full list up with me at the moment, and the counts are off because I keep adding to it.
Edit: Now corrected with most accurate estimations

Just messing with you. There's room for both in the marketplace.

I was actually wondering that when I saw those numbers throughout the thread: how many are games that were acquired not because the buyer sought them out, but because those 4 or 5 extra titles came along with the 1 or 2 that the buyer actually wanted to buy?

Oh, more than a few, i use to give games that i wasn't interested in but then i realized that people only wanted them to the +1/free cards so i took the liberty of adding them to my library instead of giving them (i only give repeated ones).
To be honest, i'm really happy when someone takes 5m of their time to write me a message about their experience with their game, at least i know that they actually played the game.

But back on topic, i still do the mistake of buying the bundles or even the games just because it was on promotion and i thought that it was something that i wanted to play. It brings me memories of my shameless past, when i used to pirate i had so many games that i just didn't really appreciate them, i was just rushing them because i wanted to play the next mediocre game that i've download it, nowadays i having the same problem again, i buy so many games/bundles that i just want to pass them quickly so that i can jump to the next game.
And there's that feeling of overwhelmed, the game is so complicated/big that i don't even want to start, even when there is some interest on it, for example Civ 5, i have the games and the expansions and i never played it. :\

P.s. - In case someone calls me out about the piracy stuff, i actually bought most of those games (the good ones at least) in the following years to try to amend myself.
