I haven't played the last Wolfenstein but the one before that - Return to Castle Wolfenstein was pretty good, in a romp through and forget kind of way
When I heard 'Bethesda' I though Wolfenstein based FPS / RPG hybrid like Deus Ex with Nazis - that could be interesting...

I bet they will screw eastern european players again with a stupid 1C deal .
They should focus on single player and skip multiplayer completely. The last wolfenstein had problems because it faced a long legacy of the RTCW and ET multiplayer that it had to compete against. When that Wolf MP demo leaked people quickly saw how crappy it was, and the game suffered. Didnt help that the company that made the MP was fired right after the game was shipped.

And who on earth would pay 60 bucks for a 8 hour tops FPS game? Apart from SimonG.

no idea if they will make any deals with 1C yet for distributing this game. AFAIK it was only Skyrim and RAGE they had distribution rights for, and there was some backlash over it (not very much though...). May be they will self publish globally this time?

Speaking of ET, anyone still play that? Might be a good way to kill time. I know the community for the original Red Orchestra is still pretty large, so I figure it's not too out there to assume ET still has players.

LOL. Remind me not to get on your bad side.
I love the ambiance of this series, looking forward to seeing how this one looks. The 2009 one by Raven was actually pretty fun.

All I remember is green, green everywhere, as far as the eye can see.

In the other dimension, yeah. I don't think the rest of the game was overly green though... maybe the second hub area, since it was near the portals.
Well that trailer was kinda all over the place, the music, the mechs.. Can't say it sparkled my interest in any way. Hopefully they'll show something more interesting in the future.
This game ist ein Schweinhund. Ja! Beiherhund das Oder die Flipperwaldt gersput! Demokratie Schtonk! Liberty Schtonk! Free Sprecken Schtonk! Heil Hynkel!
Am I to understand that fast paced gameplay, accurate guns (if you're forcing me to rely on iron sights in a Wolfenstein game, you're simply doing it wrong and should get back to the drawing board immediately), adjustable FOV, weapon models NOT taking up half the screen and level design that doesn't insult anyone's intelligence are too much to ask for these days or is there actually a chance of TNO being something more than another mediocre shooter?

Yes, I'm skeptical. It's hard not to be.

If you expect 2013 shooters to play like 1999 shooters you're operating in a position from where there is nothing to achieve but disappointment.
