Indru: The only real interest I had in this sale was the Heroes of Might and Magic Pack, but it got voted out in the first day of the sale and I don't know if there are chances I could get my hands on Heroes 2 , Heroes 3 and Chronicles in this sale. The Timeless Classics giftbox doesn't seem to feature them, as seen on Reddit. I cannot post the link unfortunately, IDK why. Google "GOG.com reddit timeless classics" and you'll reach it.
Last year, GOG repeated all the offers in the Winter sale during the end, so you might still get a chance.

Good to know! Thank you for giving me hope! :P
Well, one addition I like is the boxes you get to pick. Although, a friend of mine has received a discount to a game he already owns... twice! They should have fixed that.
Discounts are discounts, I'm quite pleased; got some stuff I wanted for less than the usual price, I'm not about to argue with that.
Yeah, this sale - not so good.
Well, I've got all the D&D games (had none of them thru gog) at a massive discount, and The Swapper, Omikron, & Tales of Monkey Island in my random daily sales at deep discounts.

So...no, I do not find the winter sale a touch lacking. Now if I only considered the 50% off across most of the games on the site, then yeah, that would suck. But that's not the *real* sale now is it? The real sale is the daily bundles and the random daily sales (which is hit or miss, but lucky for me mostly hit).

SSolomon: The 50% across the board discount seems pretty pointless. I could get a lot of games cheaper on steam just using the coupons they fill my inventory with. Then there are the bundles that try and sucker you into buying games you have zero interest in if you want a decent discount. Then the gift box that always seems to give me games I already own. Other than the Fallout give away, this GOG sale has seemed rather underwhelming. In a market of dirt cheap bundles and much deeper discounts on competing services, I am really finding it hard to find anything to buy this year. Anyone else feeling a real lack of interest this year, or am I just getting real unlucky with how everything has played out so far?
Bought a crap load of good games for what adds up to about the price of one or two new triple A retail game(s). Also, I appreciate all the different types of deals and special discounts they have going, to keep things interesting. So, no, I have no idea what you are talking about.

Also, what's a Steam sale?
Dungeons and dragons pack deal ( one with baldur1,2 , torment, icewind dale series $1.99 each ) was cool.

It's when you pay less money than you normally would pay to own a game, to not own a game.

I could get a lot of games free on Big Fish Games just using the coupons they filled my email inbox with . :p

Don't expect a " we blown your mind away with a 75 - 85 % off discount on everything " sale on Steam in this holiday either .
Lacking?? You are kidding right?

Bard's tale.. collection, 2 dollars..

gabriel Knight, 1.50

Fallout, fallout 2, fallout tactics,, Free...

so for the Barely the price of a bottle of beer, I picked up 6 games.. Not to mention the other great sales, like the D&D bundle, or a bunch of others i have seen..

Has it come to the point that unless you get 100's of games for 50 cents, you are unhappy? Funny i made a post saying thanks for the great sale... not one person responded... Make a post that you don't like the sale, and it floods with people complaining, that it is not good enough.

I agree that the Daily Gift has been somewhat lean, but do you all remember the Insomnia Sale or even the first day of this sale?

I don't know about most folks, but I had a difficult time doing anything on the site.

Maybe they're running this sale the way they are (slower) due to the fact that their Servers couldn't handle it otherwise.

Just a thought.

I don't expect one, but I also don't expect valve to try and force games into bundles as the only method to get a decent discount. I really dislike the bundles, if the games were sold individually, and not lumped into bundles to maximize profit I would likely find the sale a lot more enjoyable. As is, I would lose money to get a better discount because of all the unwanted games jammed into the bundle. In the end I really don't care. I just started this thread to see if anyone else was feeling a bit luke-warm towards this sale. Some are, and some are not. So, I guess their marketing is working on a certain demographic at least.

Also, I have no idea who bigfish is. Sounds like a bad record label name.(Will google it now and see what I've been missing) haha

Big Fish was a brilliant Swedish metal sorta band. You can't go wrong with a drummer that sometimes drums on a dead cod. :D
