stoicsentry: Djinn: Not the work of a Lich... something far more powerful than that. You are dealing with Ancient Serpents of the Underworld or... more likely, something far more sinister... this work could be accomplished by Wizards with the sacrifice of certain beings... those of a magical nature.

As long as my master remains alive, I am bound to this dungeon until he has given me explicit permission to leave. Should I be able to take pro-active measures humannnnn, you would surely be dead... for attempting to kill the master. And I, I would be roaming free... looking for him.
Lewendor decides to try trickery.

"Djinn, I saw your master not too long ago. I asked him about you and he said that he almost forgot about you until I reminded him of you. He wasn't against the idea of you leaving here."

Lewendor hopes this works...

As Jack:

Those were spare aces up my sleeves! You know how Xir likes to play after he eats ten greasy turkeys!

Ringmaster: Very well, Exile. You have permission to accompany them. Do not screw this up, and we will be good friends... all of us. Have Jack and Xir fill you in on the details.

I give you one note of warning: do not play cards with Jack, he cheats. [Ringmaster scowls at Jack].
"As if I'd ever trust a rogue. Its bad enough this might be the one way to keep my own neck." The Warrior stated, now turning to Jack "Are we going, my new friend?"

Djinn: [somewhat convinced by Lewendor's improved lying ability.] Ehhhhhhh... it is... likely you speak the truth. I warn you that if you are mistaken, I must get direct permission from my master... how do you say, retroactively. If not, it surely means the end of me....

Yet still we have one problem...freedom from these confines shall, to some extent, unchain me from taking pro-active measures. Therefore I ask, why again should I not simply kill you once we leave this dungeon? You have tried to kill the master in the past.. yet now, claim to search for him. So that you may finish the job you started?

Lewendor:

"I am not trying to be your master. I might be a rogue but I do have some compassion for a fellow existence, since you're not a creature this word will have to suffice. Don't you want to get out of this dungeon. I'll bet the walls and the rats provide some quality conversation. Take it how you wish, Djinn."
Djinn: Very well humannnn... the price for treachery is death. Are you willing to pay the price?

"We are rogues but we have our standards and we don't perform treacherous deeds on those who are on our side.. By the way, Djinn, do you have a name?"
Djinn: I have no name.... humaaaaaannnns have namesss... we.. do not. Hoooooow do you nameeee that which is eternallll?

[Lewendor and the Djinn are headed back towards the city to meet up with Jack, Xir and the newcomer, Exile.]

OOC: The Djinn will probably stay under the control of the GM

OOC: you see how I as Lew took the Djinn with me? It is entirely possible to influence the Djinn thus the DM. I don't think the DM counted on us yanking the Djinn from the dungeon :P

OOC: Yes, pretty much. Anyway, his loyalty remains to Miken. So you have two things to consider: one, you have to be wary of the possibility that he turns on you if Miken commands him to. (Is there any way to get him NOT to command him to?) Two, he WILL grant you magical wishes if he believes that it will help his master. So that's the upside. Convincing him that this is the case may be a tad tricky, and the wishes he grants will be tempered by his mistrust of you from the last encounter.

OOC: Landeril is helping me with a few elements of the game, here and there. Mostly we are collaborating about rules related aspects of the game, and some story suggestions. I am maintaining the final say in everything, obviously, but the more input that I can get from players, the better.

For example, he's been active helping me figure out the new subclasses that are coming (about 25 of them, I think.) Everyone is welcome to contribute, though, of course!

Yes, I didn't expect you to push that hard to take the Djinn. I was not going to allow it, but as far as I'm concerned the characters have just as much of an influence on the plot as I do (I'm writing the overall story, but within the story, there is great flexibility).

OOC: Stoic, expect the unexpected with a Polish dude playing in your game. :P Besides, I am trying to see if we can break Miken's bonds by using mercy for a fellow being as a factor. I know if I was an eternal entity left behind in a dungeon I would want someone to get me the hell out of there. I also like testing the boundaries of a DM :D.

OOC: Stoic. I just thought of this Quests "reward" PM?
