Soyeong: Have you even read the Bible?
I have no idea how you can say that just by looking at atheistic societies in the past century. Religion teach the importance of justice, yet somehow that gets flipped around in your mind.
pimpmonkey2382: The difference is no athiest society ever done anything in the name of atheism, where as christianity has many crimes done in it's name. To say that it was done in the name of atheism is wrong, and you would owe us an apology.

Soyeong: The point is that if all those negative aspects are found in all societies, including atheistic ones, then those things would be part of the human condition rather than something caused by religion. The love of money and power are the root of these problems, not a religion that teaches us to love each other, and even our enemies. To say that it was done in the name of atheism is wrong, and you would owe us an apology.

Final Fantasy Tactics actually applied that with the Faith stat. 0 Faith = no effect on magic for your character and 0 damage if you used it, while 99-100 faith would increase the potency of spells but put them at risk for becoming overzealous and leaving the party for religious pursuits.

hedwards: Yes, the difference between Jews and Christians is primarily that Jesus came and died for their sins. Jews are still waiting for their messiah to come. Similarly, Muslims do not consider Jesus to be their messiah either, he is just a prophet from their point of view.
The whole Jews for Jesus thing is just a form of self hating. If they actually took him as their lord and savior, that would make them Christians or possibly one of the related religions that follow from Christianity.
The issue is that Jews who follow Christ don't consider themselves to have changed their religion or given up their ethnic identity. Rather, they think Jesus was the the Jewish Messiah and the fulfillment of their religion. Christianity is the fulfillment of Judaism and is itself a Jewish religion with Gentiles grafted into it. The New Testament is thoroughly Jewish. The whole Jews for Jesus thing is just a form of self hating. If they actually took him as their lord and savior, that would make them Christians or possibly one of the related religions that follow from Christianity.
Jews for Jesus is not a form of self hating in the slightest. There are Jews today who are still waiting for their Messiah who have not realized that he already came and Jews for Jesus are an outreach to help other Jews realize this.
There are Jews today who are non-practicing or consider themselves to be atheists that do not consider themselves to be any less Jewish.

Of course, there is Christian sources proving he was real but that is not real evidence. There are even Christian books about hell out there, written by people who claim they saw hell.

pimpmonkey2382: What happened exactly, the authors of the new testament, read the old testament, then made the "prophecies" fit.
