HypersomniacLive: They were flash video ones - guess 5 games presented in a very short YouTube video correctly and email the answers to GOG; if you were among the first 10 correct entries, you won a $9.99 gift code.

If you check GOG's YouTube channel, you will find the videos.

blotunga: I probably was in a meeting then, as I saw nothing on the first page. Or was this some "social media" event?

HypersomniacLive: Three actually. ;-)
Where was the second one?

I saw the tweets for FLASH 1 and FLASH 3 but not for FLASH 2.

Ohhhh! GOG is messing with us!

bernstein82: Nice! 30" and without any chrome. That's what i call a true purist :)

my 2cents: thanks to this gog sale it's the first time in years i'm missing half the sales on steam. And the other half hasn't made me spend a penny...
Yeah, I wanted one of the Dell 3007's when they first came out but the price was insane. A few people I worked with at them at time bought them, and one colleague had 2 of them set up multihead which was nuts. I'm more frugal in nature though so I set a price point maximum at which point I'd buy one if they ever dipped below it. $1000 (they were $3000 originally). Last year Dell had the U3011's on sale for $999 and I flipped out and splurged for one. I rarely treat myself to nice things so it is a pretty exciting thing to finally have after all that time fantasizing about it. hehehe. Machine has 4 displays attached, the 30, 2 24" 2405FPWs, and a 65" TV (which is the right side in that screenie, oops :). Generally only 2 are active at any point in time, but I want to change the configuration in the future to do triplehead with the LCDs for certain games. Should be very interesting. Apparently Postal 2 is getting patched with multihead/eyefinity support when they finally give us the GOG patch too. :)

I did fullscreen for the screenshot to capture more of the webpage for GOG, I don't normally surf like that though, but I do have a button on my mouse set to toggle it which is handy. :)

Ah ok, I hate twitter, so I don't use it... Actually to think about it I hate all "social media" stuff...

I tried that to find the video for FLASH 2, starting from the video for FLASH 3 but they don't appear in their upload because they are unlisted, only those with the link can see it.

Zeyes: I wonder how one will be able to tell if the giveaways in the "recognize these 5 games" contests have all been claimed...I can see GOG receive submissions for hours after they've awarded all 10 prizes already. :)
Indeed. I've watched each of the 3 videos at least 3 times, pausing them to study each game for anything that looks remotely familiar either from having played a given game, seen a trailer, screenshots or anything and out of all of the videos I might have recognized 2 of the games max. The time I'd have to spend to hunt through the whole GOG catalogue looking at screenshots and Google sleuthing, someone else would almost certainly have figured them all out already. :) Going to watch any other videos they put up just in case I manage to luck out on one, but I think others will likely bonus out first. Whoever can guess those quickly truly deserves to win as they're pretty tough IMHO. :)

I wonder when/where they announce the winners, anyone know? Best of luck to everyone!
i've spent the last couple of days playing ittle dew [which i bought during the sale] - haven't stepped into the master cave yet, and i don't t hink i've done absolutely all the dungeons justice [i don't think i got all the collectibles] - but it was a pleasant blast :)

nice puzzles [though - it reminds me in places of a souped up sokoban for those] - a little action and some silly humour. worth the money if you spot it during one of the flash sales.

FLASH Video Contest #2 posted about here.

I just looked this up as I don't use facebook or twitter, but I suspected as much since Tekkaman-James posted about the 3rd flash video contest.

skeletonbow: Indeed. I've watched each of the 3 videos at least 3 times
On the third one I had 4 games for sure and a very long shot on the fifth. I sent an email anyway (after 1 hour) but I doubt I'll win anything, I tried to find the last one more because of curiosity than anything.

The 4 games I had were:
1. 1954 alcatraz
2. Ethan Meteor Hunter
4. Papers, Please
5. Shadowrun Returns

The long shot is:
3. Haegemonia Gold Edition
And that's only because in this screenshot there is a blond woman with a short haircut and a blue jumpsuit in a style reminiscent of the video.

Given the type of game it would have to be from a cutscene, though.

Thanks. I don't use facebook or twitter either.

Edit: I only recognise one game from the second video.

Boy, Banished is being a real holdout on us today isn't it? :) It's like it has been banished or something. :)

If you're right, I don't own any of those except Haegemonia and I haven't played it, but I think that was one of the ones I saw that I said "I think I have that one" and would have needed to look up one of 4 or 5 games to figure out which one it was. With no clues about the other ones though I was SOL. :oP

Grargar: 3rd was Consortium: Master Edition.
That was one of the other few that I recognized and only because I just watched a game trailer for it within the last hour beforehand. :)

Like I said, a long shot :)

Dare I go to sleep? After the next batch of games I think I sleep, I just hope I won't miss any freebies :)
