I thought this was funny:

ANIME IS REAL!!
Oddly enough, waking up around midnight last night and realizing I was sick. Why? Because when I'm sick at work, I'm very laid back. The usual things that annoy me, don't. I just don't care. :-)

Plus, since I didn't sleep well after midnight, tonight I will go to bed at six (very early) and (hopefully) get ten hours of sleep.
Opening up a bag of Twix Halloween candy early and enjoying it. (I will regret this at some point but today is not that day. oh and I did not eat the whole bag..just a handful)
Looks like I may finally be getting paid for my book reviews. Whoo!! Probably a pittance, I'm sure, but at least I'll be paid to write!

That bag isn't going to last until Halloween!

Sadly I agree that it will not. But it is still alive as of now. =D (Never mess with a girl that needs chocolate =X )

Congratulations! Online reviews or for print publication?

Thanks! Both, sort of, but right now it's only one newspaper and their website, but hopefully more avenues will open up.
The rather small renovation of my old apartment (the kitchenette and the bathroom) is finally finished, god damn it. I was originally hoping to have it finished by mid August or so... There were some surprises that complicated things a bit and caused extra work, and the renovator also messed up some things that caused delays, e.g. somehow he couldn't comprehend there should be a dish draining closet above the kitchen sink, he had installed a normal closed cabinet there instead. Such draining cabinet is the standard here above the kitchen sinks, like this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dish_draining_closet

So we had to fix it afterwards, making a big hole on the bottom of the closet and installing the draining grates, etc. And the renovator also threw away some installed lamps and air vents even though I hadn't told him to, so I needed to buy new ones to replace them.

We also seemed to have severe communication problems of what kind of items he needed, first he said the new lamp above the kitchen sink needs to include a residual-current device, then he said no he meant for the lamp in the bathroom, and in the end it turned out that the RCD is not needed into bathroom either (as it was merely a lamp installed high on the wall, not including any sockets). God damn it, I think I tried to hunt down for a RCD-capable lamp suitable for kitchen and/or bathroom for like two weeks, the store clerks had no idea why I was looking for one (and didn't have any) etc. All for nothing. If I had wanted to hire an amateur to do the renovation, I would have hired myself instead.

However, now it is all finally finished, and I can either rent the apartment out, or sell it. Overall I am otherwise pretty happy with the outcome, especially the kitchenette looks now much more attractive than before.

A good friend that I haven't seen in a couple of months sent me a text mesage early this evening asking if I wanted to have dinner with her tomorrow night. That's enough to make me happy for now.
Pay day coming up!
Happened to find nice song by accident. Sad one, but man.

Laura Moisio - Jäähyväiset

"Farewell"
Drove from a place about an hour south of Louisville, KY, up to Cincinnati yesterday. A bit rainy and traffic sucked, but the autumn leaves are in prime color right now so it was quite beautiful driving through the hills. I thought I was going to miss the big color change back home while out of town this week, but am simply catching it down here, instead.
