Currently taking taking a break from X3 Terran Conflict and playing Vikings: Wolfs of Midgard instead. That game sure has some annoying bugs.

- invisible breakable barrels
- items that are part of a set or a weapon, duplicated when inserting in the player chest
- a total crash of my system
Finally wanted to play Arkham Knight and Rise of the Tomb Raider, found an excellent offer for the PS4 versions of both online, hesitated, Tomb Raider was gone at that point, ended up buying Arkham Knight, Sleeping Dogs and Yakuza 0. Wasn't sure what to play next. Only yesterday it occurred to me that all three are open world crime-themed martial arts stuff which didn't make the choice any easier, lol.

Anyway, went with Yakuza 0. Really amazing stuff so far. It's great to see a Japanese game that's not (too) riddled with over-the-top absurdities and where characters are actually believable. I haven't played it too much, yet, but at this point there's been no implausible character behaviour and unbelievable motivations. And so far characters actually always talk about the matters at hand, only one time a character started talking about some weird and seemingly unrelated stuff but it ended up being a legitimate rhetorical device in that context and the protagonist acknowledged its oddity. Great to see that there's Japanese developers who can do "realistic" writing and can do character development without making characters suddenly talk about their favourite childhood toy or weird fetishes in the worst possible moments or where characters won't do the obvious thing due to some pseudo-philosophical bullshit. There's been some weird stuff that western developers rather wouldn't do but it was used humorously and kinda detached from the main plot so it was absolutely okay in my eyes.

Really intrigued at this point.
Shifting between the divinity series, towers of time, system shock (With its new enhancements) and the Shantae series...

How is this one? All the reviews seem glowing - I'm a bit bummed I didn't grab it on release. I held off because 1) I was a bit scared off by the length - not that 40 hours is "super long" but ...

2) I'm already playing an excellent 40+ hour game and not sure when I'd get to ToT or if I'd be ready for another "big" RPG next. Been putting a ton of time into Phantom Doctrine. The game is just starting to really open up - nice long intro to sort of ease you into mechanics but I'm still slowly unlocking the bulk of the game and getting into new options / weapons / skills etc.

*EDIT TO ADD* I was a HUGE fan of Aarklash Legacy and ToT seemed like a bigger, wilder and deeper version of that which is what initially caught my attention. If you end up liking ToT I'd say check that one out sometime as well.

It's excellent, I'd compare it to the first divinity as far as dungeon puzzle variety and the grand CRPGs of old due to the character back and forths and player choice as far as plot/character loyalty outcome is concerned, in short; it's an insta-buy for CRPG enthusiasts!

Also, it has a modular difficulty system much like mount and blade whereas you can have hard battle/puzzles or easy, but yeah, it's pretty long and you'll need a pretty good PC to run it full 60FPS, I have a 1080/AMD Ryzen 7 and still frequently get 50 frames, but that might be my system's fault!
Another playthrough of Dragon Age Origins.

I never made a "good guy" run, so this time I'm going with Alistair, Wynne and Leliana.
Taking a break from Sunless Sea. Just when you think you have a pretty good run going, a couple bits of bad luck hit in short order and you die. Guessing I'll never actually win this game.

So now I'm revisiting Total Annihilation. Blow some shit up. Wish the AI were a bit smarter in the campaign, not so much just a pre-programmed set of actions. Gets better with skirmish mode.
I snagged that Mortal Kombat dos collection through the Back to School sale. Mortal Kombat II remains the most fun you could have with your pants on. I've also started playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 V Generation. Two wildly different games, and ones that I normally would not play. The former is super creepy and immersive (with the right tinkering), while the latter goes beyond the expectations that I first had for it.

Really? I don't think I have ever played a "bad guy" in an RPG. Not through a full playthrough anyway.
