tinyE: Yeah, and I'm wondering about #2. It sounds totally different.

Matewis: Haven't finished the game myself, but heh, goood luck with the treehouse level...
I got through that.

So far the biggest pain was getting across the island to the Archives.

Nice, I found I couldn't hit those mutated monkey things with my M4. I'd empty an entire clip, hit nothing but air and then have my throat summarily ripped out :P

The African Savanah setting of #2 looks really appealing, so I hope to check it out one day just on account of that. The main criticism of #2 seem to center around the constant respawning of enemies.
I thought it was the Maleria mechanic? Only going off heresay though

Oh yes I remember reading about that as well. But I mostly read about how people didn't like having to clear the same guard stations over and over again as they moved across the map. Not sure though. That's very long ago too,
so perhaps such annoyances have been lessened in a patch since.
This is why I'm intrigued. I want to know if I'll hate or love it.

Neither re spawn or the malaria thing, which I've read about, sound really good to me.
Read up on malaria in that game. Seems like it causes and 'episode' every 30-40 real life minutes. Not sure if that sounds fun at all. At least it appears someone made a mod to get rid of it:

Currently ongoing games:

- Pillars of Eternity (have to finish this one first before starting the second one)
- Total War: Warhammer II

Also some occasional online playing on NWN1 Persistent World scene.
As anyone ever tested out the driving pig easter egg in the GOG version of Far Cry?

Every time I get to a spot with a jeep when I'm not being shot at I forget.

Why would it not be there? I do not own it on GOG so cannot test but I see no reason for it to have been removed together wit the copy protection.

Talking about Far Cry, anyone know if there are more than two routes across the lava stream?

I can give hints and tips on how to in FC for those that want as I have beaten it on hardest a couple of times and second hardest several times more trying out different routes and ways to get through levels.

Currently playing Rogue Legacy. I love the "one more run" draw of this game but man am I bad at it. Haven't beaten any of the bosses and even some of the minibosses still give me trouble.
Getting toward the end of Far Cry and I see that it suffers from the all too common, 'Partner stands RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU as you are aiming to take out a bad guy' bug.

At least she can take a hit and doesn't die after one shot.
currently playing The Witcher Enhanhanced Edition and Far Cry 3

My standard answer ;-) Have you read the books? I can only recommend to read the books first - it adds so much to games.

Far Cry? End? Partner? I can not really remember having a partner in Far Cry.

For a few short bits toward the end of the game you are with the female scientist. She likes to stand in your line of fire.

I really can't remember. I can remember you're dropped on that fucking island with mutants everywhere and you have only a little ammo... You have to reach that crashed helicopter and survive a major shootout there.
Then the end takes place in some kind of stadium which was hard as hell. I admit I used the console to quicksave there which is kind of cheating, but at least I defeated the waves of enemies without any god mode.
I really can't recall having any company in those levels.
