Kipper: StarCraft Remastered

tinyE: That's out?

I heard it had some pretty nasty DRM.
Yep.

As far as DRM, yes you need Blizzard App to play, but I got the impression you can play it offline as well.

How big was the download?
I have a Blizzard account so I am considering it.

Seeing the properties of the file it's a bit under 7GB, but as far as I can say I around halfway through you can already play it, when its "playable".
I'm currently playing my first full-length sandbox mission of Startopia. It's rather encouraging that I haven't grown fatigued with the game after a solid week or two of completing the campaign mode. I opted to disable warfare and AI opponents so I can focus solely on economic matters. Several of my chosen handicaps include low starting energy (50,000 e) and increased difficulty pleasing visitors and residents. I really enjoy the tenuous balancing act that the early game presents. How much can I spend before I incur those dreaded power failures? Since I have no opponents, I can leisurely wait for e to trickle in from my starting facilities and emergency rewards. With the exception of a few obligatory purchases from Arona Daal (i.e. Love Nest and Sick Bay), I'm doing things in an extremely roundabout way: I'm gonna research as much as possible prior to building. Research can be a tediously drawn-out affair, but I personally find the game more rewarding when I have many goals to achieve. And above all else, I'm absolutely ecstatic that I don't need to go bomb-hunting! I was still taken by surprise by a Skrasher rampage out of nowhere, but even that beats searching high and low for a needle in a haystack.
Finally installed Sonic Generations (bought it from that SEGA Bundle months ago). and I'm already wanting to uninstall it 2 hours in.

Playing Adventure 2 months back I really like how Sonic and Shadow controlled in that game. Both of them had a perfect sense of weight and speed that felt natural to them. Going from that (and Sonic 3+Mania) to this felt really jarring. Both "Classic" and Modern Sonic feel really stiff when turning and jumping around, the homing attack just feels horrible to use unless targeting something (otherwise you'll just kill any momentum you had), the physics in both the "Classic" and Modern Sonic stages feel off, and even the boost mechanic is awkward to use unless you're in a straight line with no obstacles or drifting. Some of the skills you can equip (being able to stop on a dime, keeping most of your speed when going up hills, etc.) kind of help, but I'm just having a hard time getting into this game because of how it controls. If Colors and Unleashed play the same way, then I honestly want nothing to do with them or any other "Boost" style Sonic game.

ciemnogrodzianin: Still fighting MDK - if you didn't try it, just do it. The game is awesome. I love the level design. I can't even imagine how impressive it was back then (unfortunately in my case it was just impossible to run the game on hardware I had owned).
I played it "back in the day" (I was hungry for 3D accelerated games to run on my 3Dfx Voodoo card back then). I don't recall MDK being technically anything special compared to other 3D accelerated games, but I was quite impressed by its humor.

I was expecting to get a similar feeling with Giants: Citizen Kabuto as I started playing it maybe two years ago, but I somehow got frustrated with that game early on, on the mission where you are supposed to save (catch) some aliens who are dropping off of the heights. It just seemed so hard to try to position yourself so that you could catch them, I'd constantly miss them.

I'm playing Morrowind, I haven't touched this game for over 10 years as I really didn't like it much the first time I played it. Vanilla game really isn't that good but mods make the game so much better. I'm enjoying it more than I did the first time.

Still working on Eternal Darkness off and on. I like the game but some of the boss battles are incredibly tedious as you try to figure out which spell to use to get past the defenses, and then casually walk around avoiding attacks waiting for your magic meter to slowly refill so you can try again.

Also playing Lunar: Silver Star. Pretty solid JRPG although one of those with a stupidly high encounter rate.

what mods are you using? I lost all my bookmarks with my old pc.
OH, if anyone here liked Mario Kart and want a good, albeit different clone, try F1 Race Stars.

It's Mario Kart/Krazy Kart but with real drivers. They all have great big heads, and they drive around in miniatures of actual F1 cars. It of course has goofy track design and bizarre power ups. It's way cheap on Humble right now.

I'm only using MSGO right now

I wanted to keep it close to vanilla as possible for my first run though in 10+ years

pmcollectorboy: I drive trucks for real, so entertaining the idea of playing a virtual version of the job I already do in real life seems strange to me, but I'd probably still suck at it at first. I wonder what the best control scheme for the game is. A good 1080 steering wheel and some foot pedals?
You're probably right. I had an opportunity to play with steering wheel (not the best one) and it was really nice. However I like driving in real and I suppose such steering wheel will never be satisfying for me - and for you, as a professional driver, for sure. It's more about exploration than driving simulation.

I'm playing with mouse and keyboard. It was a bit weird at first, but someone told me it's much more realistic then using WSAD and it seems correct. Still - far from real life experience, but there is something in this job, which makes it intriguing and appealing - lucky you! ;)

If you decide to play - beware! As far as I know there are people who drive both in real life and in ETS2 after hours. Do not even try or your life will be like picture attached ;)

I'm in a bit of a puzzling mood, so I'm jumping between Train Valley and Sokobond right now.

If you really want it vanilla then you can use OpenMW instead, as it only makes it better to run on a modern computer (stability, higher res etc.).
