Up to 75% off Freedom Planet, Guacamelee, FEZ, Shantae, and more!

We've been waiting four years to get a 29th of February, but now finally it's here! And what better way to celebrate Leap Day than by going, well, leaping. The occasion calls for some gravity-defying, platform-reaching, hyperkinetic action and that's why we've invited some leaping experts to show us their agile ways. And although it took some effort, we managed to keep the prices pinned to the ground and even knock them down a notch or three.

Ready to protect Freedom Planet from an alien warlord that is after its most precious artifact? It will require speed, agility, excellent reflexes, and some sassy attitude but there is a dragon girl and a wildcat who possess just the right set of skills for the job.

Unlockable characters, randomized levels, dozens of items, and enemies that grow stronger the longer you stay on their mysterious planet. There is also a Risk of Rain and permadeath involved but the hours of intense platforming action more than make up for it.

It has horns, a mean forehead, and a funky beard. No, it's not your mother-in-law, we're talking about Escape Goat here! Together with its immortal mouse friend they solve puzzles, avoid deadly traps, and use the intricacies of the environment to escape the most dangerous of strongholds.

Get your feet off the ground and jump sky-high for the long-awaited arrival of Leap Day! If need be, seek inspiration in excellent platformers like Guacamelee, FEZ, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse or just take a glance at their discounted prices. That should lift your spirits right up! The promo will last until March 04, 10:59 AM GMT.
Oh my, it seems this promo was made just for me! Aside from Shantae, there are several nice games I'll be adding to my account today :D
How's Escape Goat 2?
The first one didn't impress me much (through videos): It seemed too barebone and repetitive.
The seconds game has a nice graphic, but is it better?

It is better. It still gets repetitive and way too hard eventually.
Yeah I already have most of these games... on GOG! :D

The only games I was missing was the new Shanteaea game, and Risk of Rain. I decided to buy Risk of Rain, while Shantaea is still a bit too pricey for a 2D platformer.
I already own here on GOG all, but three, of these.

Leroux: I still wonder whether it's actually worth buying for me. I've only played a third of the original game; bought the Gold Edition via the Humble widget for $15 and was pretty disappointed when they offered Turbo Edition later, without any option for direct buyers to upgrade. You buy something called "Gold Edition" thinking it's a definite version, and having to buy a full game again afterwards in order to get an 'even more definite' version sucks.
For purchasers the gold version GOG offered a 75% coupon towards the turbo version after it's release, which was significantly more than any of the sale prices of the turbo edition. I took advantage of it, I felt it was worth the price.

catpower1980: Geez, I had to google up Leap Day because I thought it was yet another Polish holiday :o)
Why, what is February 29th called in Walloon or Flemish?

Well, they didn't officially offer this kind of deal to those who had directly purchased the game from them.
Meh, all indie, all platformers...

Uh oh.. that isn't great.
I like some puzzle games, but only when they change mechanics and favor clever solutions.
If the gameplay becomes a repetitive chore or a trial&error task, that's just boring.

Example on the fly:
- move a block on the button to keep the door open -> ok, nice
- move 20 blocks on 20 buttons to keep the door open -> boriiing

It's been a while, I remember the game introducing more mechanics. It just didn't keep my interest due to requiring quick reactions or perfect timing combined with puzzles.

The Vita version is terrible. :P
The game is pretty fun. It becomes absolute chaos as you keep dying and add more characters that shoot more bullets etc.

My GOG forum avatar should be indication that I love it! :P

It's seriously one of the most fun, mechanically tight games I've played in recent years; if you like platformer goodness with a twist (time rewind and ghosts of your previous runs that help you), you can't go wrong with Super Time Force Ultra. It's easy enough for a quick first playthrough, but unlocking characters and extra modes can be really challenging, if you're into that sort of thing.

I highly recommend it.

Sounds like something that I will enjoy (especially the part about the ghosts of your previous runs that will help you). I think I'll pick it up.

Thank you!

Yeah, I'd be sore about that too. Have you tried e-mailing the publisher or developer?
EDIT: I just checked right now, it's only $3. That's less than what it cost me last year. It cost me $3.75, which is still a very good price. Quit complaining & buy it's worth at least $3.

I think it's worth $5 especially if one likes Contra & Metal Slug.
