So he probably won't be doing critiques anymore and his stuff will be more LP-oriented from now on. He's a great guy who made me realise how bad traditional gaming media is and helped me see through a lot of shit practices. He was also a consistent voice of reason regarding industry issues and was the least cynical of all the people covering games, even though his name was CynicalBrit. His work will be missed.

Aw, that's really sad. I wasn't an avid subscriber, but if I wanted to find out about a game and a search turned up one of his "WTF is..." videos then I would usually watch that.
It's important to spend your time wisely (i.e. with family) if you don't think you have much left, so retiring is very much the right thing to do.

He totally went under my radar, but this is such a downer to hear. I wish the very best to him and his family.

Oh dear! TB fell off my radar for a while, but the last I heard was that he was doing better. And now this bad news :( I wish him and his family all the best too.

Sad news. I like how he goes through the game settings in his reviews. Few reviewers do that. He is an advocate for the game consumer.

Really sad news. Enjoyed watching his videos. I knew of him health conditions but thought he was improving. His reviews of games where really interesting and there was no BS to them just good honest feedback.

Yeah, he had stopped doing reviews (and wtfs) for a while, and I didn't care much for the co-optional thingies.

But it's sad, and annoying. His reviews were the best, if not the only interesting ones. He was the only video game reviewer i was following.

Apart from yahtzee's zp, but these tend to be a bit less thorougly informative.

Started to dislike him over certain incidents... but genuinely sad to hear the news. I truly hope things turn around but... I'm assuming based on the wording that odds of that are slim to none...? Either way best wishes.

I was never a fan. Quite frankly, his voice bugged me. BUT I wouldn't wish that kind of suffering on the poor bloke. I hope he gets everything he wants out of whatever time he has left. :(
