There was something like that ("Heimat defender") released for free last year...a jump'n run game where you fight against the "Globohomo corporation". It has now been pretty much banned by the German state.
So yeah, the German commenters going on about freedom of expression are full of sh*t.

Being told as an adult what to play/watch//etc, and in the modern day......it'd perhaps laugh at such ideas a bit if it wasn't actually happening to people in some places.

He stated openly, which was quite baffling, that Germany is facing a leftist(communist) takeover. He was mentioning the silent revolution and the march through the institutions of the '68 generation and that the western liberal democratic values made it possible..

He also said that Mr. Bezmenov was not the only defector, there were several, talking about the plan to destabilize western democracies.

We as adults understand there is heavy left wing propaganda in this short game, but at the same time we have the ability to ignore that propaganda and just enjoy the gameplay over the weekend.

I didn't know anything about this game but I looked at its Wikipedia entry and it had a positive reputation so I got this free game here.

Saw some criticiism of it here, just skimming the messages, maybe typified by this early comment: "Thanks CCPR, I will pass this leftist violence simulator propaganda you call a "game".".

Isn't pretty much every Western FPS a 'right-wing violence simulator' propaganda which is called a 'game'?

This situation is akin to right-wing, Ruper Murdoch dominated news media landscape complaining about those lone, isolated voices which take a different perspective. E.g. the Murdoch media have a lot of time to promote any weak science which 'shows' that climate change isn't a thing but will attack media organisations like the ABC in Australia for reporting...news...about climate change being a thing.

In other words, one 'leftie' FPS and that's all too much for some people. A million right-wing war propaganda FPS games and it's a case of 'Nothing to see here. Move on'. I'd say that this demonstrates that violence and propaganda are only a problem for some people if it's not by their political team.

For some of us, it's less whether people can ignore the game's propaganda or not, and more the fact that the timing of this game coming to GOG(especially given some events in major cities in the US and elsewhere the last two years or so) is somewhat like a slap in the face.

Too bad. Overtly political and controversial games are justified as being as such (especially by those on the left) as "just wanting to add to the public discourse", or "to start a conversation about x,y,or z topic". You can't just throw the devs under the bus by insisting that the conversation they wanted be shut down. If that happens, you're just going to end up making it look like they're peddling naked propaganda.

Naw, bud. I had enough of that garbage growing up. It's pretty obvious what the game is about, and that what's on the tin accurately portrays the contents. You know what you're getting into, unlike your average communist revolutionary. If anyone feels duped, then GOG has one of the best return policies on FREE MARKET.

The game is being given away for FREE on May Day. That's no coincidence.

"It's just a game," is the usual call of Marxist propagandists. I can look out my door -- TODAY -- and see people burning and breaking things while waving the same flags as in this game.

I've played through the game multiple times. Yes you CAN play as a progressive - but you can also play as a proper Conquistador (token mixed-race chick notwithstanding). BTW although I kept the mixed race chick and even rescued her from the bastards who wanted to sacrifice her, I then sold her to the evil temple guy in the next map - because the irony of that act was too hard to resist. ;)

And there is a TON of racist options that you can choose - which will be validated and applauded by your racist team members.

Finally, unless you completely exploit the game's mechanics by making profits selling food or medicine (possible with really high hunting and medical skill respectively), the only way to get the best ending for your character is to be a total bastard. Basically, you need to conquer the region for Spain and also bring back above a certain amount of Gold - which requires being a bastard since without using exploits, the only way to do this is to pillage as much as possible whenever possible, while also doing asshole things like selling someone to the temple to sacrifice, and when faced with a choice between saving a team member or getting gold, always choosing the gold.

If you don't conquer it for Spain, you're not really celebrated at all when you come back - King's disappointed. If you bring back less than the required amount of gold, you don't get much of a reward from the King despite conquering the region.

Also, you'll note that right at the start of the game you can choose to only bring paid workers with you instead of slaves - but the slaves are given freely, whereas the paid workers cost you. The only advantage the paid workers provide is that if you lose certain battles, you're not screwed over as badly (which is easy enough to avoid by not losing said battles).

So don't go around stating that the game tries to preach a pacifistic approach, when that is completely untrue.

I suggest YOU actually play the game - right to the end that is, and not give up as soon as you're offended by a mixed-race chick or whatever it is that stopped you the first time.
