I can confirm that account dropdown in header and cart are not appearing on forum pages.
We're very sorry for that, it will be fixed 23 November around 10:00 UTC.

To see the account tab and working cart (or just log in) please go to main main page of . You can also <span class="bold">go directly to account</span> via link: [url=http://www.gog.com/account]http://www.gog.com/account

If you wanted to use users tooltip on forums:

To access chat with user that you did conversate with before, go here: http://www.gog.com/account/chat
To open a new conversation you can either go to this link:
https://www.gog.com/u/USERNAME/chat
(replace "USERNAME" with actual user name)
Or go to
http://www.gog.com/account/friends
Then click "INVITE NEW FRIEND" and search for specific user - then chat or invite him.

To go to users wishlist (if public, otherwise you'll get 404): https://www.gog.com/u/USERNAME/wishlist
(replace "USERNAME" with actual user name)

My Account tab is also AWOL when browsing the forums. I'm currently using Google Chrome on Android, so it seems the problem is OS-independent.

EDIT: hadn't seen Johny's post...

In addition to the missing account/cart already reported, I also cannot get the avatar hover menu (wishlist/chat) to appear. Luckily I remember how to do it directly:

https://www.gog.com/u/USERNAME/wishlist
https://www.gog.com/u/USERNAME/chat

This. And it is really annoying. Sending out all the chat messages became a real pain.

Yup, confirmed. The avatar hover menu is gone for me as well.

Wow, to give an estimate that accurate shows some pretty good confidence in the dev team. You go Johny... and make sure the person who broke it doesn't do it again. ;)

My guess is that they have the fix, but can't upload it where it's needed until they get to the office. Then again, this will most likely break something else.
After all, remember the old developer's song
"99 bugs in the code
99 bugs in the code
take one down, patch it all around
127 bugs in the code"

your tune is more optimistic than mine. :)

truth be told, removing bugs seldom affects the overall product as much as introducing features does, and I find that those introducing features who don't know how the product works in the first place puts in more bugs than features. :)

On a side note, I just noticed that there is actually a user called USERNAME you can chat with, but he doesn't seem to have a public wishlist.

if you chat with them and they become something like Dr. Sbaitso, Eliza or [insert bot name here], that would be quite intriguing.

Well, so far s/he's still offline. I wonder if s/he uses galaxy, so I can see what s/he's playing.

what's the worst that can happen, you irritate some random USERNAME?

I'm guessing they actually can, but prudently prefer to wait until they have all hands on deck, in case of unforeseen consequences. I can't really fault them for that to be honest. If there's one thing I've learned from my years as a developer, it's "you don't put new changes into production on a friday afternoon", or in this case a saturday evening. Monday morning is a much better choice.
