It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

JMich: 1) Adalia's Fundamentals had the option to change the order of users in the chat.
2) GOG did change the default order to what AF was using (from what I recall), but in doing so messed up AF's ordering.

I think the above was discussed in the AF thread, let me see if I can find the posts.
Edit: Not in the AF thread, but do tell me if you want me to keep looking.
It's in the "Is the chat buggered?" thread (the chat's personal version of this thread)

My sorts should still be fine, just mislabelled now as the Gog Default is no longer Gog's default. They should both still work though.

Gog's new sort is apparently in order of last contact (I haven't had a chance to poke about at it and see if it's identical to my version or not) whereas before it was online / offline first and last contacted second.

Library notifications usually take some time to go away. About half an hour, seemed to me, but guess it could also be an hour, or at least sometimes.

As for the chat discussion, yeah, just noticed something changed too, but since I very rarely used it, wasn't quite sure what till now.

This used to be the case for me some time ago, but as of late my update notifications usually went away after visiting my library twice.

Now notifications seem to be fond of lingering for a while in my account bar again... :\
Today when I visited www.gog.com the Navbar along the top wasn't there. It usually says Games, Films, Forum, Wishlist, Support, Sign up, Log in, etc.

When I manually navigated to www.gog.com/forum or www.gog.com/wishlist, the Navbar was present, so I could log in and access my account but it looks like something they did during the "Summer" discount (even though it's currently Winter) busted the main page. I hope it's fixed soon or a lot of people will be upset they can't easily log in to finish the last day of the discount period!

Are you getting any errors in your browser console? Do you block any scripts?
I'm running a GUI browser launched directly from the XFCE panel, so there is no console. I don't have script, flash or advertisements blocked. But I don't have flash player installed, so 90% of the advertisements don't appear anyway.

With a bit of experimentation, I navigated to www.gog.com and the Navbar was back and operational as normal... but ONLY at certain zoom levels! If I used the browser's zoom level of normal (Ctrl+0) then no Navbar; if I zoomed out three times, the Navbar reappeared. Whereas on all the other pages in the website, the Navbar appears at all zoom levels. Looks like someone is experimenting with the main page.

Or maybe it has been this way for ages and for some reason I've always previously had my zoom level set to something GOG can handle.

Press F12 in your browser, see if there is a console tab in the menu that opens. Chrome (and derivatives), Firefox (and derivatives), Edge (and derivatives) and Safari (and derivatives) should all have said option. I think Opera should also have it, but haven't used it to be sure.
Well I've never seen that before, but I rarely use Firefox these days (its new Australia format runs like a slug on my rig. I find the new preferences etc. confusing / hard to navigate, and it took me a while before I could get the menubar back - without which you can't do much!) so maybe you've identified the reason the main page looks different to me this time - this time I am indeed using Firefox and maybe my user agent changes what the http server delivers!

Anyway, pressing F12 shows me:
Inspector, Console, Debugger, Style Editor, Perform, Network
Net, Css, JS, Security, Logging, Clear, Filter output
and then a large blank space with nothing in it.

I have revisited the main page with this frame visible and zoomed in and out while the Navbar appears and vanishes, and the bottom frame stays looking the same, so I guess that means no errors. So maybe this isn't after all a case of what did just break... but more a case of having to configure something so it works. Not as bad as I thought!

When the Nav bar is missing does it show a menu icon in one of the corners?
If it's a zoom issue it may think you are on mobile and give you the mobile menu version...

Cyraxpt: It used to put online users on top and the rest on bottom, both organized by the last time they contacted me but now it's just a mess with online and offline mixed but organized by the last time they contacted me.

Here's a little test I did.

I disabled AF, and my contact list remains the same in GOG's default as in AF's "Last active" - those I communicated last on top, regardless of online status.

But, if I enable AF, and change the setting to "GOG Default" then my contact list displays those last active and currently online at the top, then those last active and offline.

Yeah, I got another notification today that isn't obvious although I think it is an update to Dreamfall Chapters. I dunno if my eyes are deceiving me but it seems they should rename that game to "Dreamfall Updates" LOL Not complaining! Just observing! :)

I'm not a big fan of Australis either, but Firefox is the best of a bunch of bad options for me, so I found a solution.

Classic Theme Restorer

That extension lets you set up your Firefox UI however you want. In fact, it was featured by Mozilla as one of two shining examples of how Australis is much easier for extension developers to modify without breaking something. (The other example being an extension which is to Chrome's minimal UI as Chrome's minimal UI was to the old Netscape Navigator-style UI that Firefox and Internet Explorer both used to have.

Of course, I still agree with Jeff Atwood's view that Mozilla is using their extension ecosystem as an excuse to abdicate their responsibility to provide a reasonable set of defaults and customization options out of the box.

(If your browser requires a dozen extensions just to get simple, obvious things that are standard elsewhere, like scroll-wheel tab switching and menus that are consistent with the look and feel of the host platform, then yes I will blame you for any bugs or performance problems caused by those extensions.)
