Nah for all would be too much, but I could vote for all I actually know and just exempt people who appeared in my chat list I never even heard of... I wish I could delete such empty chats...

I'm going to leave my feedback about this abomination of private communication system in the next couple of days, and the point you make is definitely one that's on my list.
Did you vote for toxicTom's wishlist entry?

Resolved. You get TWO separate notifications under the Account menu item in the navbar. One notification is from your Friends and another is from the Chat section that you receive from people who are outside of your Friend list.
Please check your privacy settings in Orders & Settings if you are not getting notifications, perhaps it's just a setting issue (just a theory of mine).
[...]
This was about the notifications for the old PM system (look at the date). But regardless, your reply got me wondering about the part I highlighted.
I currently have a number next to "FRIENDS" in the drop-down menu of the account tab in the nav-bar which represents the pending friends invitations I received.
So, how does one distinguish between which notifications are from friends, and which correspond to pending friends invitations?

Hope the blues and GOG staff are seeing how change isn't always a good thing. Just remember, some one got paid to piss us all off. lol XD
As for a response like "well just have to work out the bugs". Nah, that doesn't fly. Stuff was amiable to user base before these changes. The grumbles will only subside as people have no choice in the matter...and yet some one got paid to do this.
A nice idea would be to get the customer base involved instead of asking a handful of people before making big changes to the one thing that makes the company money. The site.

This sounds like notifications for messages from friends appear next to Friends, and not next to Chat which is reserved only for exchanges with people that are not your friends (how ridiculous this whole terminology has become).![dnovraD](https://images.gog.com/680326e9fd0e0a1e36e54e40b16c5fba8a67d01894ae5f81218a1e7ef8f0bfb6_forum_avatar.jpg)

They update and add more broken things and allow for so many holes to be exploited with every new addition. To put it mildly they are doing a terrible job. The people who make plugins complain all the time that they are kinda forced to update as well because if they don't, the plugin may end up breaking.
Company staff complain too. The average company PC times 100 cannot be updated every week, as most companies can't afford the IT people to maintain their systems. Kinda stupid all around technology these days.
