Laberbacke: Wouldn't mind this being over soon. Then I could actually PLAY the stuff I bought.
avatar
Siegor: No, no, you got it all wrong. The whole point is to get a huge backlog you'll never actually play ;)
That's right. So it does matter, that you make yourself a limit, how much games do you want to buy, that you can actually play ...

And then promptly exceed it! XD

Naw, you're right. It really is a good idea to keep a hard limit on either the games you buy or the money you spend for these kinds of sales. Otherwise it's really easy to get sucked into the trap created by the "limited quantities" and our tendency to impulse-buy...
Although they don't state it directly, I feel that GOG's use of the verb "wolfed down" implies that the wolf was responsible for the unexpected freebie runout. I'm calling foul. That wolf has been lying there asleep the whole sale. With a sheep standing on his back. No way did he have the opportunity.

By contrast, look at that sheep. Not only right next to the scene of the crime, but maintaining alertness with obvious substance abuse. I think it's pretty clear who's to blame. Would you trust that smirk?

I can stop anytime I want *scratches his mouse hand nervously* I'm just a casual consumer. I don't need games to have a good time... it just helps you know...
i FINALLY GOT TRANSISTOR YAYNESS!

Now I can forget about this sale :D
...
Unless they suddenly decide to add some awesome classic games like they should have from the beggining ¬¬

moonshineshadow: Of course you can, but you also get new store credit, so it is an endless cycle ;-)

CelineSSauve: They keep you coming back?
Unfortunately, they still don't offer regional pricing for Canada, so I end up paying 2.5% to my credit card on top of the exchange rate...

avatar
angel7000: They're lowering prices even more... >:(
avatar
CelineSSauve: I haven't spotted games cheaper than they were before?
use this..

Holy!

Finally, after waiting for more than 12 hours Kyrandia showed up!

Got it! Got everything I wanted from this sale, I can close the GOG tab in peace now.
So, I know that the free games are out of stock now, but I had earned 3 over the past couple days and I would have figured that since those 3 games were sitting there with key codes for me that they would stay there until the aforementioned April date. But now all of those are gone. Is that supposed to happen? Are the free games that I earned throughout the sale not kept even when the supplies run out?
I'd hope GOG had at least 10% of the amount of games they planned to sell for the free games.

For example, if they're forcing this sale to continue until they've sold 10,000 game units, then they should have had at elast 1000 free games available. Since 10 games was just the most basic of the reward tiers for this sale.

I'm with those who say the way it was structured actually gave much less incentive to those who already own many games here.

Same happened to me. I had a code, but seeing that no one wanted to trade, I wanted to redeem it now, and it's gone. It was Dead State: Reanimated.
only games left I wanted was fallen enchantress and system shock enhanced ......................

Awesome, thanks! Odd that they'd put it here as opposed to just keeping it on the front page and then just putting below that there won't be any more freebies... Either way, hard to not appreciate GOG! Thanks guys!

Thanks. I had already looked there, but forgot to CTRL+F, so I somehow didn't see it :p.
