This.. is literally exactly what I do when I spot a game I might like.
I search for it on Steam, & then I check the percentages for positive/negative, maybe read a few of the top reviews, & check the Discussion Forums.
It's generally a really good simple way to verify: quality, community, & developer behaviour.
(ie: Does it work & is it fun? Is the community good or awful? Are the devs shitheads or nice people?)

I mean, I think I recall the odd card or something that was genuinely a bit "ehhh", but considering Cards Against Humanity is great fun and can be fucking hilarious..
