Darvond: Give Sony credit where it is due, VR is
something people actually want., and have wanted since before I was born. Whack ass controllers with tiny Wiimotes built into them plus some dumb rumble system that'll just drain batteries like the Game Gear is not.
rampancy: Granted, PSVR seems to be the most accessible consumer VR platform out there on the market, but I've read/seen criticism that Sony is overcharging for its PS Move controllers, which are apparently outdated.
Darvond: Nintendo may be very bad at communication...
rampancy: It's absolutely true that Nintendo screwed the pooch when it came to communicating how and why the WiiU's features were supposed to be meaningful to the public. However, I do give Nintendo credit for clearly communicating in their initial teaser trailer what the Switch is, and how you're supposed to use it.
As for everything else...well, we'll see. But I hope it doesn't bomb. I really don't want the Switch to be Nintendo's Saturn or Dreamcast. There's needs to be meaningful competition in the console marketplace for Sony/MS.
Personally, I don't find much realm for consoles. Especially at this point when one of them is a frankendevice probably running modded Android on ARM, and the others are x64 PCs with caveats running a bastard version of Windows on one, and the other running a strange version of BSD. (The latter has been hacked to literally run Linux.)
With Nintendo having gone full gimmick this time around, with about 400+ USD to get in the door, while I wish no ill will on Nintendo, I can't exactly say I'm going to dust off the pom-poms and cheer them on.
Gandos: - Speaking of Zelda, its trailer was easily one of the highlights of the whole presentation. The game is simply looking phenomenal. After years of mishandling the series, it appears Nintendo is finally getting it right. It will be a system seller, no doubt about it.
SirPrimalform: I agree with a lot of your points, but I think Zelda is looking horrible. How many years of mishandling do you mean? I mean Twilight Princess was a bit of a low point, but Skyward Sword and Link Between Worlds were great. Admittedly I would rather have had another single player Zelda than Triforce Heroes, but overall the series has been looking up lately. Until now obviously, I don't want Zeldar Scrolls: Breath of the Skyrim.
Darvond: As mentioned, broken system. As in "in half".
SirPrimalform: As in left/right or top/bottom? Presumably it wouldn't switch on anyway.
And what, did Nintendo refuse to transfer stuff or something?
I didn't have another system to transfer to. Full stop.
Darvond: I'd much rather have a new Wipeout, F-Zero, or even a traditional racing game without any dumb licence tied to it.
seppelfred: Then you should play
Fast Racing Neo on the WiiU. It's fantastic.

Fast Racing RMX for the Nintendo Switch.

One is a system I don't have and don't plan to purchase.
The other is a system I'm not going to buy and won't have.
Let's try a platform relevant to my interests.
