To be fair to Blotunga, he/she probably thinks I'm being overly paranoid, and he/she is probably right. I'm not planning on running for president, or working in Hollywood, so no-one is likely going to care what I say here in one year's time, never mind 10 years from now.
It's he, and I think paranoia isn't helping in anything. If you don't use for example google/facebook etc chances are higher that the NSA or whomever might want to spy on you since it's suspicious that you don't blend in :).

1) A number of reviews were posted that exclusively consisted of political rants with no mention of the game's quality or lack of. This is not a review

2) Fake reviews that were both pro and anti-Brexit were posted, they were both deleted equally.

3) The only two review left are reviews that talk about the game and what the game consists of. These are fine, as they're actually reviews.

4) All of the fake reviews were posted by users who did not own the game.

We understand the game is political by nature. Whether you are pro or anti is irrelevant, the key factor is leaving an actual review of the game.

I hope this clears things up.

Your post was locked due to me explaining why reviews were deleted. There was no other value to be gained from it. As for classy, when you refrain from spouting out expletives while ignoring replies to your concerns, you can then talk about classy.

I'm aware it completely overlooks the fact both pro and anti brexit false reviews were deleted in order for them to have 'an angle'. I'm also aware the site itself wishes for ethics in reviews and video game journalism, yet defends false reviews being posted.

The only thing where I can kind of get the rage is the Beamdog releases, esp. because they de-list the original games. It would have been better to have the original games side-by-side with the remasters - but I know GOG's hands are tied in this. Still people should be try to stay calm and factual and point out the deficiencies of the actual product and not personally attack devs or customers. I mean this literally is useless - it will not convince anybody to avoid the product if you just wave with torches and pitchforks...

I understand people do not wish for certain games or genres to appear on GOG, but the review page is not the platform to express this. The forums provide them with a place to discuss exactly that (assuming they can control themselves in a civil manner). We recently saw it with Hidden Object games and the whole Lepurex saga with anime-related games. Not everything is for everyone, thankfully there's plenty out there to explore and try.

Its defending false reviews because it opposes censorship. What you are supporting is a form of censorship that is reminiscent to china. The censorship of conservatives in social media. In fact the US senate is aware of this and they say its becoming dangerous. big example was facebook removing Diamond and Silk for being "Unsafe to the community" They have never committed any violations whatsoever. Next is Alex Jones. he maybe a nut but all social media platforms have banned him. Let me cut to the chase here. Stop the censorship of people with different opinions. and I know what a moderator is like. I was one on multiple game servers and VOIP channels. dont you dare say that Im dumb.

But it's neutral. It's a gaming shop, so reviews that only state personal opinions and tell nothing about the game are irrelevant and deleted. The reviews are for making an educated guess if you might like the game, not to express if you actually believe in chemtrails, a flat earth, the spaghetti monster or human made climate change.
If you rate like "the gameplay is fun, but the blatant in-your-face anti-brexit attitude detracts from it - I'm sure the review will be left standing.

Again, you've ignored the fact both pro and anti-Brexit false reviews were deleted, much like the article you linked does.

The review page is NOT a place for users to express their political views or tastes in nothing but a rant, it's there for reviews. Talk about the game's qualities or lack of. Talk about why you do not like the game, or indeed why you liked it. It also helps to play the game, not just read it's description or watch a let's play.

There's tons of political views in games, some more obvious than others. I'm not even sure Super Mario is entirely free of politics.

Games are art - some one or some team express themselves through the medium. And their views will shine through it, intended (Bioshock, This War of Mine, Witcher) or not (no example - since I'm not sure if it's just subtle or not intended).
