Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

MGShogun: Should I get this game? Is it any good game? How's the controls?
avatar
Faeja_Vu: The controls are simple, just movement keys and aiming with the mouse. Can be a little annoying at times since it is a top down game though.

Personally I have enjoyed it a limited amounts. Some of the levels are damn infuriating. It takes practically -nothing- to kill you. A single hit in fact if I recall. As you play you unlock masks with various powers, but to be perfectly honest, there are times where I wish I coulda combined the powers of various masks.

Still, the game can be pretty enjoyable as long as you don't have to repeat the tougher levels too many times. No save feature by the way, though there is check points in a number of the levels, like when you go to a second floor.

One final thing I should note, sometimes I had to launch the game twice in order to get the sound to work.. not really sure why...
Again, thanks for your comment. :DDD

Minmataro: Cool my Riddick just finished downloading. gonna fire that up and play during the keaning.
riddick is very good i like it

Russonc: Jack Keane is a good game everyone....it is just getting beat up on a little.... :)
avatar
CarrionCrow: That's the thing. A good game at minute 1 can turn into a "this sucks and I wish everyone associated with it had never been born" game by hour 4.
I may just pick it up next time around (I am hoping they only have 5 copies the last go round though!)

MGShogun: Thanks for letting me know. Sounds more reasonable than Retro City Rampage, which depends on the gamepad. I don't have the gamepad.

CorranHorn: Hotline Miami? Yes it´s a good game and is more about strategy than action since it requires some type of plan to be able to do the missions you are given. The graphics are reminding me of GTA and so is the "setup" of how you achieve your missions. This is a bloody game, and a damn hard game as well=).
Hard? Ruh roh. X.X
We're nearing 22222nd post :O It better be about how cold the outside is again :D
I catch Hotline Miami, now Brutal Legend or Postal 2.

P.D: Evoland seems good game, but it seems to be short.
Eesh, this is going to take forever. Time for yet another shameless plug:

You can get a free copy of a fun old Sci-Fi Rogue-Like, "Jaunttrooper: Mission Thunderbolt" either by writing the author at megacorp@aol.com or sending me a PM here!

And vote it up on the wishlist: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/jaunttrooper_mission_thunderbolt

If you email the author, please encourage him to submit the game here, as it would make a great freebie and he doesn't seem interested in getting any money from it anymore.

Fictionvision: Compared to RCR, I think this game is better by a good margin.

I am a cheap bastard when it comes to buying games. I wait for sales for almost everything and the number of stuff I buy full price day 1 is in the mid to low single digits every year. I will be buying Hotline Miami 2 day 1.
Agreed

Im getting there as well. My impression of games day 1 is going downhill and the prices charged.
Bought several games full price this year and been severely disappointed....
Im curious what price would u be willing to pay for HM2 ?
Thought I'd pop in and check if Thief 2 has made its final round yet. Has it?

Since it was pulled from Steam, I had to buy it on GOG, I really wanted to play it! :D
I've been playing Unwritten Tales while watching this sale. According to my save log, I've spent nearly 12 hours on it.

Maybe I should get out and exercise or something.
Ah good, it's slow but not painfully slow, set the alarm for 15 minute naps :)

I assume it is $10 like HM1, but I'd drop $20 if it hit that without question. Higher than that and I might go back to waiting for a promo :P
