So what I mentioned using one shortcut for all installed GOG games instead of cluttering the desktop, here's what I meant (see the attachment).

Any GOG game that I install, appears automatically under there. After all, it is merely a shortcut to the GOG.com folder under the Start Menu.

As said, I am unsure if this is similarly possible in Windows 10 (or 8.x) because they somehow changed the folder structure of the Start Menu.

drealmer7: haha! What amazes you specifically? My partitions? That I'm playing so many games at once? Orrr? Just curious! Glad to have amazed you, I think!
Well, first it was the clean desktop. I even thought at first that you just put a nice picture for us to remind of non existing snow. Then it was the number of partitions. That's when my jaw dropped. How do you manage to have so many? I feel like I am dummy when it comes to computer hardware now. Also, funny names! And so many games! You're like a living cyber-treasure-chest.

Not a bad idea , but i am fellt better cause for first time i have my own games and just one is pirated(can you gues guys which is it?).
I live in very poor country with such a corrupted, judges, ministers and everything and on top on that i have monthly 60$ income from inability pension and some from some auctions in eBay and here in Bulgaria, so don't judge me so hard.If i have normal job(13 years structure worger-concread and iron without single insurance=60$ instead 120$.

The other problem most firms where searching workers want to get their soul, but i have nothing.Just one women said that i need at least Microsoft Exel and World, better English or just driver licence whitch cost 500$ that i haven't.I payed 150$ to cover 1 year and 7 monts, cause our f.....g healt Minister made law that who didn't pay for last 3 year insurance-health taxes, next year will be 5 years back.Who the fuck will pay for 5 years whilie he can't pay for 3?
Sorry for spam, but we have 4 seasons, rivers, lakes, mountains, tradition and even half Black sea and people are so cheated that, half are beggars others competed to take the best part of the garbage lol.

That's i don't want to upgrade to windows 10, cause i expect no more than 50-60% Windows 10 for pirated versions.

Sorry for spam, but i show my desktop and if somebody things about that here explanation. That on my desktop most games are free to play, others are from here cause what is 2$ for such a grat games?

I'd like my desktop clean, so no games' shortcuts on it. I have enough games though!
Here is a screenshot of my desktop, showing only GOG games in terminal on the right.
You are the master, I think 36 years are too much for trying Linux.I like the idea for free software, but i start using PC just from 5-6 years and I have the time to learn Linux.~10 years ago i found some dick and one was in case with many children and i saw Ubuntu.I was not sure what exactlly is this but i remembered that i readed advertisment and i liked too much.

I keep this disk to these days and i will shoot the case tomorrow, when the sun light my room!!!

I am an organization freak! Not nearly as much as some people, but probably moreso than most. I used to be a videographer/video editor and that required lots of HD space and memory and I acquired those things back in that lifetime. I also know how to build my own PCs (not super savvy at it, but, I can do it, it is a relatively simple thing) which makes everything wayyy cheaper.

So, I have 3 HDs. A very old 320gb HD which is partitions E: and F:, a 1GB that is several years old which is partitions C: and D:, and then a 2gb HD that is 3+ years old which is partitions B:, G:, and H:.

I learned 2 malfunctioning HDs ago (14 years ago?) to install the OS to its own partition. I learned after that to keep separate any programs that use the internet from the rest of my computer too. Not only is it more secure from viruses and hacking, but it also makes the computer run better.

I also figured it makes sense to keep games on their own HD because some can be system-intensive and it is best to have NO interference/clutter on the drive in order to get optimal performance. That's 3 partitions right there. With the realization about games and how their performance can affect/be affected by other programs existence, I figured it made sense to keep all other programs on their own partition, separate from any programs that use the internet. Partitions with programs on them can get cluttered and sometimes it's nice to be able to simply wipe the partition clean and get a fresh start. In order to do this, all media must be on its own partition so I don't lose it or have to juggle it around.

I have LOTS of movies, songs, and pictures, some I've had for almost 20 years at this point, and I like to safeguard that stuff as much as possible from being mussed. The # of games I have is nothing compared to my movies and books (which I don't do digitally, books made from paper, forever and always, for me.) I hope to live a long time, and experiencing art and entertainment is one of the things I enjoy most in life. I plan to play games, read books, and watch movies as long as life permits, and so I am always growing my libraries of all 3. You should see my bookshelves!!!

I'm really not tech/hardware savvy, I've just learned some stuff over almost 30 years of having computers.

Oh, and as for the partition names, I've always liked to name them and have used the same names/naming logic for a long long time.

drealmer7: CuCuJambo, I'd like to see your picture in context with the rest of your desktop (a full screen-capture), rather than just a cropped pic of the game section.

I like threads like this and being able to get a little insight into other people's modes of operation/how they do things.

I can't stand anything being on my desktop. I like the be able to see the calm of my background.

I have almost every single game that I own installed (over 200) unless: I've beaten it and am not going to ever replay it, or it is a GB-heavy sequel that I've not yet beaten the predecessor(s) to. The games that I'm currently focused on playing (though, some have back-burner status while others are in a more active play-state) as well as a few all-time favorites reside in my start menu for quick-access, and the rest are in alphabetical order in my programs>GOG folder.

Shelter I almost beat and then stopped playing because I was waiting for my partner to beat first.

Overseer I'm a few days into but am finding it sucking and hard to get through, though I require myself to do so before moving on to Tesla Effect which I'm excited for.

Shadowrun Returns I'm 75% of the way through but then I got distracted by other things in life and haven't gotten back to it. I realized after putting a bunch of hours into Gothic that I should finish Shadowrun Returns before I get too immersed in Gothic so I don't forget what's going on/what I'm doing (if that happens it will be hard for me to get back to because no way am I replaying what I've already played and I hate trying to figure out wtf I was doing in a game after leaving it for a while.) So Shadowrun will likely be the next game I complete.

FTL and Tales of Maj'Eyal are currently in "forever-play" status.

TLJ, Torment, and Fallout 1 are all there to be replayed when I get a chance. Inquisitor I had to start over because of a bug and is currently back-burner status until after I finish Gothic. These are all-time favorites and Gothic will probably join them in the "forever installed+someday replay" group.

I still haven't finished W2 and once W2 DC gets another patch I will start it and play them along side each other with the same characters + group build but with some tweaks. I look forward to switching back and forth between them as I go through them to really experience the differences.

drealmer7: I believe this to be absolutely true. As crowded as my HDs are, I have them insanely organized. I have 2 HDs with multiple partitions. C: partition is exclusively for the OS+drivers. D: partition is games. H: partition is DLed movies. G: partition is DVD-rips and other media (music+pictures.) E: partition is for software that interacts with the internet (skype, utorrent, zune player, etc.) and where I DL things to. F: partition is software that stands alone (word, celtx, VLC, alcohol120, etc.) B: partition is overflow, meant to be for our KORG microsampler, but currently holding game installers and some movies that I couldn't fit elsewhere.

As you can see I'm practically full, and this bothers me because I'd like more space (can't rip any DVDs or DL/install more games atm), but at least it's organized.

drealmer7:
Nice! There was a time when I felt like I have to save every movie I watched, every game I played, every picture I liked - everything. Mostly for sentimental reasons. But I was too young to decide on where to keep things and how to spend money - in other words, didn't have a possibility of enhancing my rig. So I had to adapt and start "filtering" of the things I really needed or that were really good for my taste. Been like that ever since. So I just save saving things in one partition and updating 'em (changing, removing, sorting).

I really approve you choice of paper books! That is one of the things I feel like I must have at my home. So I'm collecting books now if I get my hands on any.

Talking about partitions and collecting digital goods, I recently ran into one problem. Decided to reinstall my Windows 7, clean the computer. Transferred important docs, game saves, music, some photos to my usb flash. And then before I transferred all that back, Windows just... Locked my usb flash stick? Every computer sees that *something* is connected to the computer. But no matter, which drive letter I assign, can't open the thing. As if nothing was connected there. And drivers seem to be installed correctly. Mystery of the ages...

Azhdar: Well, my current desktop has no game shortcuts. I prefer to not add them to desktop.
me neither. I've got shortcuts for My compute, Recycle Bin and Total Commander.

My games shortcuts gets added to my steamclient, since it's normally running, and it makes a nice game launcher

Gamer's review? We're reviewing gamers? Ok...
CuCuJambo:
Interesting profile picture, very minimalistic. Slightly threatening, but certainly carries an air of mystery. He's pretty much a newbie around here, even moreso than myself, but seems to be a decent guy so far. He has a few typos and his grammar isn't the best, but he's from Bulgaria and English probably isn't his native language. Plus, I've seen worse typing from people who NORMALLY speak English, so it's excusable. Judging from his desktop, he seems to be mainly a hardcore gamer, with Fallout 2, Divine Divinity, Warcraft III...fairly hefty games. Must have a decent amount of time on his hands, but not much since these seem to be his only games. Looks like a bit of a freeloader though, considering that 3 of his games were giveaways from the site, and Divine Divinity, he could have easily picked up by stalking the forums. Steam user, ain't no shame in that, I'm guessing that he plays TF2 with it, probably the only reason he has it. He signed up for Galaxy and Battle.net, so apparently he has a fondness for multiplayer games.
In addition, a lot of his games say "shortcut' on them, indicating that he downloaded them from a direct, DRM-free source and send the shortcut from the file to his desktop. Judging from that and from the previous facts, I'd say he's, overall, a typical, 20 or 30-something gamer who enjoys hardcore stuff, definitely an RPG fan and a fan of shooters, but only if his bank account allows it. He's part of the DRM-free revolution, but uses Steam only because it's necessary. Plays in his free time off of work and loves a good deal. Now, time for me to pass judgement on this soul:

+1 for the thread idea, sounds interesting.
+1 for minimalistic profile picture, reminds me of the Cheshire Cat.
+1 for asking nicely to be excused.
+1 for using mostly DRM-free games.

+0 for low rep, can't discredit you for it considering the time that you registered
+0 for recent registration, while people are wary of that, you could still very well be a trustworthy person.
+0 for being a hardcore gamer. Yeah, I know, some people would normally put you into the +1 category because your games are good ones, but I personally like more casual, puzzle-type games, and honestly, this has no bearing on you as a person anyway, I'm sure your tastes are diverse.

-1 for having a nasty, slimy-looking wallpaper. That's disgusting.
-1 for horrible spelling/grammar. Yes, this is more of a biased score, but it's a pet peeve of mine, and this is my review.
-1 for being a cheapskate and stockpiling mostly free games.

Overall score:
5/10
1.Reputation-I had reputation sinse 2014 or moreq but i registering just to see the game.I am active member just from~one month and for one month i think that i am above active member!!!
My reputation is going down here http://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_community_giveaway/page87 cause i am new, but i have some moral and can't hide like a mouse when my name sit on the first page with banned people. He blocked me and all conversation going away, so now i can prove that i am not attacked him, i just gave him some wisdom that is you meet every noob like shit and you like to ban people without reason it is not good for community.I am 36 years mate did you think, i am going to attack him?

He just was mad that i ask him in private chate "Did my request is rejected or you have many jobs and i need to wait" then the angry anywho comes and was mad cause i disturb The boss in private chat.

I do not care for reputation, but i see my reputation is 13 and i wrote a post and my reputations going to 9.I up again to 12 wrote post and my reputation going down. But i can understand he give donated games and many people are friends with him so enough for reputations.

2.Stockpiling mostly free games.I do not want to talk about personal information but let's go.I live in Bulgaria, the minimal payment is 180$, the maximum(i've been 13 years structure builder and i took 20$ a day which day you work 12-15 hours cause concrete didn't cominc. That is past, now i have 74% inability and i take 60$ a month whilie my bills are 300$(thanks to God or whatever to have the best mother on the word and she stay under my back even when i was a JUNKY!!!).

I am from month active and i bought with one pension Fallout 2, Legend of Grimrock ІІ, and Return to castle Wolfenstain.I didn't saw 3000$ hole my life and if i get just 500 i tell you that 250$ will going for Witcher 3+DLS, Diablo 3+Reaper of Souls and Torchlight 2.

3. For being a hardcore gamer-i never been a hardcore player, i am casual player and my Twicth chanel have 0 subcribtion and 0 views.I am a bad player, but love games and they are my only hobby.Thats why i prefer to play Heroes of the Storm than LOL(i have 30 level account with some skins and i am scared to start ranking games cause i know that guys can lose game cause of me)

4.Wallpaper is changed and i hope you give me + for this:

Merry Cristmas guys, CuCuJambo!!!

PS:Gamers review their games with pictures, i am pissed that every forum tell me that my English is very bad, try to learn just to understand Bulgarian, whithout curses, just reading forums, watching movies and play games like i learn English.First or second month of new year i will get first grade microsoft package and second grade English i hope until then everything be ok for you.And last i try to sorry every time for my English but if you tell me where are signatures(if they available here) i will promise to write that my English is very bad and i am sorry.
I am not atacking you, i talk with you as a good friend- really mate!!!
