Ixamyakxim: Well I suppose better than my advice - flip a coin to buy one, get the freeware version of the other (as it sounds like both had free distributions).
Both do, but like I said, Caves of Qud's free version is Windows only and very old. Anyway, I felt like supporting some developers, that's why I wanted to buy a game, even though they have free versions. I'm glad I got both, because I like Caves of Qud (played a couple of hours but it looks great) and I always liked UnReal World. I should also give a GOLD fucking STAR to the UnReal World devs, because I couldn't launch the game on Steam (an SDL2 segmentation fault) and they literally solved the problem in less than 12 hours. Two-man team, with a Steam release on their hands, and they responded immediately, kept communicating the whole time through email, and friggin' solved the problem in less than half a day. If that's not the best support ever, I don't know what is.

That's pretty impressive and nice to see a team behind their game like that, working their butts off for something they believe it - sounds like gaming money well spent on your part!

The last time I had one like this was Rebel Galaxy - I think they had a patch up for their game here on GoG two days after release (another small "team" - and I use that term loosely - less a team, more a game of HORSE or doubles tennis LOL) - we sometimes wait AGES for the "big guys" to get their updates here, and yet it's often the little guys who are doing all they can to make sure their product is up to snuff ASAP.
I could not find any roguelike opinions, so have a roguelike story instead

Yeah, most often it's the little studios that do a great job of supporting their product but there are also some of them who are really bad not only at support but also at contacting. I've tried contacting some tiny studios before, for various reasons, and from some I never even got a reply. I mean, never. It's a shame really. But I guess there are two sides to a coin. It felt good supporting developers that really love what they do and genuinely care about their customers.

sunshinecorp: Interesting generator.
This thing is awesome :D
Caves of Qud looks like a great title, but what does it do that needs 4GB RAM?

I don't think it really does, but... it does run on Unity, so... maybe.

1GHz, but 4GB RAM. A bummer if I'd need to upgrade now for Roguelikes...

It's possible they're overstating the reqs, but I don't really know. Like I said, it's Unity, so even a light game might need some more juice than normal. But I'm just speculating here.
Indeed!

Stopping helicopters with your bare hands was impressive, but I got a peculiar monk who starts fires.
I wouldn't mind Caves of Qud on early access here on GOG...

Those synopses make too much sense. Behold the glory of my entirely random short story (apart from the pen name -- which, as far as I can tell, has no option to be randomly determined [EDIT: Well, apart from the separate pen name generator. :P])! It's like bad fan fiction without any pre-existing characters!
I'm pretty sure 'Down to Earth Owls' Is going to be the name of my future prog-bluegrass-alt-pop band.

That's a pretty awesome name. That story was great. This is probably the greatest sentence ever:

They looked at each other with irritable feelings, like two diced, dry donkeys swimming at a very intelligent Valentine's meal, which had drum and bass music playing in the background and two caring uncles sitting to the beat.
Yeah but... a sexy pixie, a tribe of wizards and a quiet gremlin - haven't we seen this before somewhere?
