T-Rex cutlets is what's for dinner.

Turok, the remastered fast-paced jurrassic FPS, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com with a 20% launch discount.

Remember when dinosaurs were all the rage and aliens were still scary? Ah, yes, the 90s. What a magical time to be growing up. Imagine a jungle-like land populated with unfriendly aliens. Now throw in some aggressive flora for added inhospitality. Surely, dinosaurs are the next logical addition. No wait, make that dinosaurs with guns. All that's missing now is an angry Native American warrior of time-travelling heritage to clean up the mess and thwart a great evil in the process. There, pure 90s.

Thankfully, Turok is not in the habit of entering such exotic-but-hostile lands unprepared. Strapped across his back are all kinds of devastating weapons, from the not-so-humble bow and knife to handheld instruments of mass destruction like miniguns and rocket-launchers. Plus all the havoc they wreak now looks extra spiffy in this remastered version, thanks to widescreen and high resolutions support, improved level design and fancy lighting effects.

Bring an army of oversized reptiles closer to extinction as the legendary Turok, now DRM-free on GOG.com. The 20% launch discount will last until December 24, 17:59 PM GMT.
As other members mentioned in their posts, $19.99 is a high price for this game. So many members wishlist it now and they wait for a good discount.

RogueXanter: Does anyone know how hat games are released when is determined? Just wondering because IMO Turok is a very odd choice for today.

We've got a new Star Wars movie so a Star Wars game or game that gives off a Star Wars vibe would make a lot of sense to me. And with Christmas just around the corner a game with a strong winter or Christmas vibe would make sense to me as well but Turok fits neither. To me Turok would have been better back when Jurassic World had just hit theaters then now.
Turok was released on Steam as well, so GOG wanted to offer this game at the same time as Steam.

Talk to the publisher, Night Dive Studios.
*looks at price*

*checks calendar to see if it's april fools*

*shrugs and turns away*

(*still needs to play System Shock Enhanced anyway*)
won't run in wine or in a virtual windows machine! PLEASE HELP!

zlep: I'm more a Russ Manning fan myself, but I think you're right - the game gave Turok lots of mainstream name recognition. I wonder if Turok or Magnus are still published today; I know Dark Horse was putting out reprints of the early comics, but I haven't seen any new ones since the Valiant Comics line shut down a decade or so ago.
Don't get me wrong, I don't prefer one over the other. I simply meant that I prefer the comic book art from the past & Russ Manning is another prime example.

It's nice to meet another person who knew Turok before the video games here, since we're at a gaming site.

I hope they release the others, I'd like to buy the whole pack just for digital archiving purposes.
thanks for this release but yes, like many others noticed, the price is ...not right :)
I'll probably get it when seriously discounted.
I don't agree with the price at all, but I guess someone has to take one for the team. I'm buying this at this stupid price for Turok 2 Night Dive, you hear?

BTW: Don't forget the fancy coloured lighting in Turok 2, just because the original PC version doesn't have it doesn't mean you should be as lazy as Acclaim were.

Turok 2 = $30 ;)
I played the PC demo ages ago and I distinctly remember you could change the colour of blood in the options menu (red, green, none). Is my memory failing me here, can this option be found in the game somewhere or has it been removed from this version?
Eh the price is not my issue, I have too many games going on right now that need to finish.
As far as I am concerned this is the best FPS released this year whether old or new, not counting System Shock as an FPS. Although I really liked Dying Light, Turok is more my style. Ah the temptation is really there.
Turok on GoG brings up an important question..
When will we see Turok 2: Seeds of Evil on GoG?!

Thats the one I'm truly waiting for!
Now I'm almost happy, I know what will I do on Christmas Eve now ;)

StingingVelvet: I was set to buy this for $5.99 or maybe $9.99 and then you made it $15.99 and I laughed and closed the page.
$6 or $10 would make sense if this was just the 1997 PC Port and that's it, but it makes sense that for all the many enhancements this version has that $10 or so would be added to the price. This isn't a straight re-release it's a fully HD remaster.
The price is a joke, end of story. It follows a worrying trend here on gog recently. These games with ridiculous prices are geared for SALE market (which now happen every 5 minutes) and extra income from suckers who pay the full amount is just a nice bonus.

Very poor form.
I agree, that the price is too high, but it isn't a simple re-release. It uses a engine that's been written from scratch without access to the original source code.

That said, I won't buy it without a linux version!
