Everything that's good in 2D sidescrolling action.

Shantae: Risky's Revenge - Director's Cut, a master class in metroidvania-style platforming, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with s 60% discount on the Weekend Promo: #StreamTeam Selection

Have you played the original Shantae? It's only one of the most amazing (and surprisingly rare) Gameboy Color classics ever released. Now, the scantily clad belly dancing heroine and her scantily clad pirate nemesis are back - and somehow, better than ever before. Originally an episodic DSiWare title, the Director's Cut release brings the metroidvania platforming wonder to PC, in all its beautiful glory. Adorable pixel art and beautiful animations make the title a sight to behold. But looks aren't everything, and Shantae is the prime example. Thankfully, gameplay is top notch as well. The title has been praised for it's incredibly tight controls, and a creative shapeshifting system that adds metroidvania-style elements into the game's open world.

Simply put Shantae: Risky's Revenge - Director's Cutis a top-notch platformer that does everything right. It's now available DRM-free on GOG.com on the Weekend Promo: #StreamTeam Selection
The other Shantaes and Mighty Switch Force are the ones that are solely dependent on WayForward, the others are licenced so their release here would probably be up to the owners of the properties they're based on.

SirPrimalform: Yes! More WayForward games, please!
Totally agree. I want all games released on Steam, at least.
Does anyone know if Risky's Revenge has a scaling option?

IronArcturus: Does anyone know if Risky's Revenge has a scaling option?
Just checked my Steam release: THREE options.

*FULL: Uses your entire screen to present the game in 4:3
*STRETCHED: Uses your entire screen to present the game in 16:9 stretched from 4:3
*ORIGINAL: Puts it in the DS resolution, I think.

I still am waiting to see if there are differences between GOG's release and Steam's...

According to PCGamingWiki, it looks like it has a windowed mode, but will the scaling option still work?

Yes, there is a windowed mode. Hit Alt+Enter.

Here is a screenshot of the game itself in windowed 1280x720 and in original scaling:

But is there a way to stretch the graphics to the entire size of the window?

Yes, though the game will look bad because the graphics are indeed stretched. I decided to cover the other two scaling modes.

Thanks for the info!

Also, do you know how long the game lasts?

No problem. As for how long the game lasts, I never even finished it to begin with. I got stuck on an item I'm supposed to search for (which I never found). A dungeon might last you a while and make you feel like spending an entire sitting through it, its not a Mario or Sonic level that can be finished in less than 10 minutes. So, I don't know exactly, really.
Yes!
Can anyone confirm if the GOG version is compatible with the CRT/Scanlines SweetFX shader? Thank you.

You should be able to beat it in 7-9 hours.

It's not just a matter of licensing, but also a matter of publishing, as WayForward is not the publisher for any of the other games.

That was sort of my point, but I didn't express it very well.
