Arkose: I haven't downloaded the base game yet to see whether the DLC installer allows for selecting DLC, but either way it looks like the DLC can be selectively enabled in ConfigDefault.xml after installing the DLC pack (the config file has entries like DLC1="true"). The DLC pack is an additional download so it's also possible to buy the Gold Edition and then play without any DLC if preferred.
Each DLC is a separate download or all the DLC is one download?

Anyway, if you can play without pirate's clothes I would suggest it. The other two at least make you work for their items, and introduce them at the proper times.
ok i could not resist and have bought the game so i have a copy to rpelace my steam one and now with the dlc as well.

The DLC pack is a single download. I'll certainly try disabling the Pirate's Clothes when I go to play the game.

Arkose:
I like your vote for Risen 3
from what i had heard the dlc content were already in game before , people were unable to unlock via console commands
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/622499-risen-2-dark-waters/62721233
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/forums/showthread.php?4845-Risen-2-All-DLC-unlockable-per-Console

which lead to a lot of anger posts , as in they just separated the existing content for dlc. in the later patch the dlc content was removed from the base game install yet the data exists only sound files gone. now only after owning the dlc the data is downloaded
Is this Gold Edition an ultimate edition or there may be more DLCs in the future?

Considering that 3 is supposed to be released this year, my guess is that this should be it. Glad I waited this long to pick up the game though, if I had gotten a boxed Steam copy then I would have had to deal with never playing with the add-ons.

RabiatorG0G: Thank you, GOG, instabuy, IF:

it is safe to make a purchase right now with all this stuff going on. Since the certificate has not been renewed according to [url=http://possible.lv/tools/hb/?domain=secure.gog.com]this site, I am a bit concerned. Would love for a blueblood to chime in on this.

Fesin: That's really awesome (even If we already knew it was coming today), and it would be an insta-buy from me ... except that I'm worried if it is safe, thanks to Heartbleed.

Can we get any official comment? Please?

Firek: We have already updated OpenSSL, so we're patched against this bug, and we will renew our certificate soon(TM). I don't know when exactly when this will happen, but I got a confirmation from IT that they're on it.
Alrighty then, bought, since the clatrification in this thread. Thanks again, Firek and GOGnomes, for communicating this in such a fashion, much appreciated.

StingingVelvet: I am bummed they added the cheat DLC "pirate's clothes." I know many would have complained it wasn't "complete" without it, but the blunt truth is that kind of "awesome armor at the start!" DLC throws off game balance and is completely retarded.
If the combat is anything like PB's previous games (ie. a frustrating mess), then I say "GOOD!" Any bonus is greatly appreciated when fighting the generally unfair creatures in these games.
Anyone willing to give some context for the ESRB rating? I.e. is the 'adult' content closer to Morrowind/NeverWinter, Oblivion, Gothic or GTA?

Also, I hear the controls are close to Gothic. Are they even a little bit better, or basically as awkward as Gothic's controls?

Tough combat until your character advances is a good thing, in my opinion.

Piranha Bytes games have a good bit of swearing and adult themes in their sarcastic but dirty dialog. This game also takes place in colonial style times, so there is racism and sexism and such. The violence is probably about the same level as any RPG though, and I don't remember any nudity at all. Just whores in skimpy dresses.

The controls are roughly the same as Risen. If by Gothic you mean the original then no, it's not like that. If by Gothic you mean the series, and in turn a more awkward system than say Skyrim, then yeah Risen 2 is the same kind of thing.

Well, I missed the discounted price ... anyway, will there be a release of Arcania: Gothic 4 with the add-on in the future, here on GOG?
Actually the undiscounted price is probably 30-50% too high for this game, especially the $30 for the deluxe version of a game that is not that good and whose base programm is already two years old. I guess they only make it to obtain higher visual discounts. On the other hand who will buy the normal prices? Nobody.

So it's a big waste of time basically. In a world of 60% discounts or more it's like the product is not really available (in a preferred form anyway) most of the time. How crazy is this?

With 50-75% discount the game is priced fair but when will the next sale come. Probably not before two months. I don't really like it. It doesn't add to the fun experience.

I thing the discounted price was fair. C´mon the game cost 8. something Euro, that wasn´t much at all.

That's what I said. I agree with you. The short version: Discounted price was fair, undiscounted price is not fair, discounted price all the time (even with calling it undiscounted) would be fairest.
