011284mm: Whilst I will not pretend that this is a GOTY for me, but seeing something like this come here is nice. I actually picked it up because A; I am a pervert, B; I like playing match 3 games.
My only complaint on the game would be that when you play in full screen, the game blows up the hit boxes, but not the graphics to fit them. Not game ending, but a little annoying at first.
I'd check to see if the game is still set as windowed in the Huniebee (PDA) the settings tab is the the "gear" icon on the right
Thing is - Gog did not censor anything.
If there's a patch out there which uncensors the game, good.
But if they sell you a gae which can be patched with this version, then I don't really see the problem.
The game is as its "initial" state as it is. I'd also like to remind you that you still had to apply the "children patch" to the Fallout games, even with the Interplay versions. Sadly, the GOG community can be very ignorant sometimes.
I'd like to have a clear answer as to why this game is a problem. You can get your free patch, and there's no problem beyond that. The GOG community can be very weird sometimes.

The problem is that it is a passive censorship when GOG doesn't actively offer the option to choose between versions. People have to go out of their way to be aware of the patch and to install it. While not terrible, it can be a premonition of things to come.

As such, I would prefer it if GOG handled censorship in a different way: As a installation checkbox with details about the censorship. That would allow people to choose their own path.

It is not a premonition of things to come. People need to stop with the knee-jerk reactions. Without being privy to the negotiations it is impossible to weigh-in. Hell, GOG may be testing the waters gradually (since this community has a tendency to have knee-jerk reactions over everything (refer to this thread, any thread advertising TW3 content, the site color change threads, and etc.)

Almost every game here in GOG has a handy modding and patching guide. The uncensoring patch could be added by the community... by you, for instance.
If GOG was handed a censored version (possibly a rework from the Steam version? GOG-to-Steam conversions are pretty common, as many games in Steam have goggame.dll files), then this is a problem of the developer/publisher, not GOG.

It is hardly a knee-jerk. For the entirety of human civilization, those who led have imposed their beliefs upon others. Those who support censorship have had a tremendous amount of inertia backing them, so it would take a great deal of time and effort to negate. Media of all forms shape human memory and opinions, so it is of extreme importance to value freedom of consumption. To control information is to have the ability to shackle and enslave the mind.

Cultural change stems from those who make their opinions known, for better or worse. To be silent is to surrender your opinion to others.

When I was speaking of knee-jerking I was primarily talking about the people acting like this coming here is a crime. I got told fuck off for telling someone that their 'protect the children' mentality was stupid since this is not a place for children, Sorry I wasn't more clear (painkillers do not good writing make).

Still though people need a chill a little bit about the "censorship". We do not know what occurred during negotiation. There are too many possibilities. Maybe the developer thought it was the best course of action, maybe gog is testing the waters for what the community will tolerate without burning down the forum and ranting to every gaming tabloid, and so forth. The moment games start shipping completely censored with the content missing feel free to grab the torches and pitchforks (hell I'll even join you), but this isn't a typical release and it isn't like there isn't a precedent for issues and drama regarding this title on other services.

MarkoH01: They had rejected the game because of their politics against visual novels (you cen read that on the devs site) not because of the content.
Wait what? Why would GOG.com refuse visual novels from their catalog? They're almost identical to point & click adventure games!

I know most Japanese visual novels have really bad DRM, but that's not a good reason to ban a whole genre from their catalog!

That and the best visual novels are console exclusive. Like Phoenix Wright.

Steins;Gate, your argument is invalid.

AlienMind: Can confirm Humble version is uncensored out of the box.
Thanks! Sorry, but I gotta ask: Did you verify this personally, or just read it somewhere? It would be nice to have the details of your verification method, as there have been a lot of conflicting posts on this matter in this thread.

I can personally verify that when I purchased the game via the developer's website a while back (which uses the Humble Widget and Humble servers for distribution), the game ships with an executable that does not even require the "uncensored" game file switch and has the uncensored content readily available.

However, the Humble Store did not officially list HuniePop in its catalog until a couple months ago, despite hosting the Humble Widget files on its servers. It is possible that there are two Humble versions, the "censored" one that is downloaded when purchasing from the actual Humble Store and the "uncensored" one that downloaded when purchasing from the developer's website via the Humble Widget. This might be the source of confusion, though I can't definitively say so since I only have purchased the game once -- through the developer's website via Humble Widget.

Don't know about this title but the widget and the store have very little to do with each other. The widget on dev's sites just uses humble for payment processing and distribution. The humble store is something else entirely.
