Tiny Bang Story, Morphopolis, plus the Enigmatis and Nightmares from the Deep trilogies.

Who doesn't love the look of a messy room, devilishly concealing all the important items when you need them the most? That guilty pleasure of rummaging around for your car keys, wallet, or that grotesque ivory ornament which unlocks the secrets to the family curse, is what Hidden Object Games are all about!
We kick off their arrival on GOG.COM with a fine selection that was hiding in plain sight and some purty 70% discounts until August 10th, 1pm UTC.

Tiny Bang Story takes place on a lovely planet thrown into disarray after an unfortunate clash with a total jerk of a meteor. Help fix it by solving quirky puzzles and scouring hand-drawn screens for objects of interest.

The Enigmatis trilogy begins on the spooky streets of Maple Creek, a place overflowing with secrets, tragedy, and hidden knickknacks! Disoriented and confused after being hit by a furious storm, you must steel your nerves and stay focused on finding that missing girl.

Morphopolis is an evocative puzzle adventure set in an almost-psychedelic forest undergrowth full of curious insects. Gorgeous exploration and fascinating discoveries await.

Ghost ships, doomed romance, pirate treasure, and items in need of finding make up the Nightmares from the Deep trilogy, a chilling tale straight from Davy Jones' locker.

ciemnogrodzianin: From what I've heard these are "games for housewives" :D
From what I've heard...
Shooters are for angry teenage boys playing death metal before they go out with real guns.
Train simulators are for bespectacled indeterminate aged males wearing anoraks, drinking Tizer, and eating egg butties.
Visual Novels are for...well, you know who...
Card games are for grannies.
Computer games are for boys.
It's silly to generalise. No one would mistake me for a house wife, not even while squinting.

BranjoHello: My feeling are quite contrary, I find HOGs to be suitable for mature gamers, like my mom. [...]

HunchBluntley: I'm surprised to see so many people saying these are kids' games. I have literally never seen or heard of a child playing a hidden-object game. Older people, and anyone not comfortable with faster or more complex games, seem to be the core audience.
I love HOGs as do many adults, but...

When I was teaching English in Thailand, I used to use HOGs occasionally to teach my kids new vocabulary. It's amazing how much faster they remembered new words when they had the word written there in the game, I explained what the word meant, and then they had to find the object in the HOG. Really a great and fun way to learn a new language :)
Good to see Artifex Mundi making it too GOG, they're one of the better Developers for these games :)

Nice. Another genre that I can ignore completely (like sports games and RTS).

You make David Hilbert cry. I want this calligraphed and framed.

(Instabought the games.)

xKeiro: Wooho! I hope that we are going to see more Artifex Mundi games on GOG, they are pretty good!

Edit: But please keep these hidden object games heavily curated, there are way too many junk in this genre.

Experiment513: Totally agree with this post. There's a lot of crap out there too so please indeed heavily curation! :)

I wouldn't mind the Big Fish Mystery Case Files collection. ;)
BFG loves drm: all steam games must have the steam client running: on or offline mode or lese the game wont run.
( steam/clients are a form of DRM cause they restrict your normal play:

buy game,
download game and install game
play game

BFG retail (CD/DVD) games they will activate the game on your pc (DRM) with a special activation .exe file :D

So these DRM huggers @ BFG arent likely to release the games DRM free

They have good games but i do not want to have to run any client to run a game :D thats why i uninstalled the games after i noticed the game asks for the steam client / autostarts the client if it is not running ...
Not liking the type of genre doesn't mean these games are bad, Artifex Mundi makes some good high quality ones for this genre + I like the art style.

There are some very spooky\horror Hidden Object games that are definitely NOT suitable for children.

Why? They are slow and sedate, require a lot of patience, based on reading and understanding, most of them heavily puzzle oriented and often deals with mature topics. What makes them games for children?

llamas: I've been interested in trying a hidden object game. I've heard good things about the Drawn series so I hope those show up eventually.
Thats the game with the Tower ?
if i remember corectly the publisher is BigFishGames and they love DRM

ALL BFG games at steam wont run if the client is not running, they will start the client for you...
Retail games on cd/dvdv in retailshops: the game comes with its own drm activator to activate the game on your PC i assume the activation phones home dont know for sure if BFG has an activation server online like securom had, or if it activates only in a nasty hidden regsitry key :D

So BFG is a no i guess... they have plenty cash, part of big bucks company(s)are a little 'nasty' cause they sell dozens games on steam but no support, no topics, no reply, if they release on steam they should have support cause steam client is different then their own small client BFG uses.
