This is how a new age of epic fantasy RPGs was spawned.

Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition, which marked the triumphant resurgence of epic party-based RPGs, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 60% launch discount.

Some RPG enthusiasts enjoy customizing their character and carefully picking their travelling companions based on both their personalities and combat skills. Some enjoy dark, engaging narratives with branching elements and dozens of side-quests. Others just want to hack at giant dragons and demonic hordes. Dragon Age: Origins walked the extra mile, also letting players shape their legendary Grey Warden by playing through their unique backstory. The whirlwind of wild magic, gruesome battles, complex politics, tough moral choices, and dramatic moments that ensued helped cement this epic adventure as one of the most influential ones in recent memory. And that was even before that night when Morrigan approached you with a certain offer...

Gather your party of memorable NPCs and venture against the tides of darkness in Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 60% launch discount will last until July 21, 12:59 PM UTC.

capricorn1971ad: we should all be thankful Nintendo gave the rest something to push them into doing something..[...]

Midoryu: I don't mean to be impolite, but your post doesn't appear to have anything to do with Dragon Age Origins' release on GOG. Maybe it was meant for another thread?

Midoryu
you mean you really don't see how Pokemon GO! is going to affect us here too?
let me ask you, have you ever seen a companies value go up 190% in a week?

EA is fighting that now..

like the rest.

I could see EA "fighting" IF EA had a similar App. But the way I see it Dragon age & Pokemon target different demographics in gaming

Stryder2931: If I missed it, sorry for a duplicate post. Does anyone know if there are included in the GOG version?

EDIT: I saw this reply later in the posts from a blue member: "It contains all DLCs and all items included in Promotional Items Pack on Origin."

Cavalary: Was asked and answered plenty of times, but your best bet is this thread on the game forum. Lists everything, specifying the few not included and how to get them.
Thank you!
On page 14 now:

sure, but what your not recognising is the strain it puts on the rest of the gaming companies to "keep" up, or get swallowed..

gotta step back and take a good look at the big picture, your looking at individual titles, it isn't about that..

190% value in 7 days?

that is a shocker really.

have you considered where the rest are in the last 4 years?
EA rose as much in stocks between 2013 and 2014 as Nintendo did in a single week.. think about it, was their most profitable year.

don't believe it? http://investor.ea.com/stocklookup.cfm

I'm not seeing a connection between the EA releases and Nintendo either, but I think you're underestimating the appeal of Pokemon GO a little. I have a friend who by your definition you'd probably put in the Dragon Age demographic. Meaning he never had any interest in Pokemon and didn't like mobile apps all that much. In addition he was a classical couch potato and only left the house if he absolutely had to. Yet he spent the entire weekend sneaking out of the rpg con we were at to catch pokemon in the park. And then he was seriously annoyed when the server crashed. And I somehow doubt he was the only one. Because if he was the server wouldn't have crashed in the first place.

Pretty much the same applies to a friend of mine, never left the house unless he had to and now he's outside non-stop.
I tell ya, Poekmon GO was the idea of the japanese minister of Health, Labour, and Welfare.

I knew I should have added "something something overlap" but while Pokemon has a wide audience appeal I haven't seen evidence that Dragon age would appeal to the same group..

"Ash could you look up "Broodmother" in the Pokedex?" :p

Note: I do not have a tablet, a smart phone or an interest in playing a pokemon title, never did even when it first hit the US way back.
When people are comparing Dragon Age to Baldur's Gate... are you comparing it to the first BG (which was a boring game with ho-hum "story" and lots of gameplay issues), or Baldur's Gate 2 which was much better polished, with an interesting story and characters and overall better gameplay as you had access to higher level spells?

I mean, some people say they still prefer Baldur's Gate to Dragon Age... I certainly hope Dragon Age is not worse than the first Baldur's Gate?!? That's like saying Ken's Labyrinth is somewhat better than some recent FPS game.

Fairfox: I know naaazing about this gamie. Too much moolah for me on a whim (same-old, alas), but yaaayz, because it's apparently awesome-win-sauce according to, like, teh internets?
Yeah, just make sure you get it eventually if you like RPG's. ;)
It really is great.
The Awakening Expansion also added quite a few hours of gameplay.

I played DA at a friend's place way back when it came out. Didn't like the game too much, but i decided to give it a go, can't go wrong at this price. :3
