Blizzard Entertainment and GOG.COM have teamed up to rerelease select classic Blizzard games, beginning with Diablo®, Blizzard’s legendary 1996 action role-playing game that introduced players to the harsh—and deeply rewarding—world of Sanctuary.

The original Diablo® is available now via digital distribution for the first time ever on GOG.COM. Players looking for the authentic Diablo experience can play the game as it was in 1996, with period-appropriate 20 FPS SVGA graphics, and the ability to matchmake through the classic version of Blizzard’s Battle.net® online-gaming service.

Blizzard and GOG.COM have collaborated on an updated version of the game, which includes out-of-the-box Windows 10 compatibility, and a host of bug fixes. Players can choose either version of the game from a launcher.
EDIT: Double post. Apologies.

Crosmando: Damn son, if you follow up on this you may have just redeemed yourself GOG.

Edit: Is this GOG exclusive or is it on Battle.net app too?
Only on GOG.

Redfoxe: Just a litttle bit worried that when/if D2 and Starcraft hits that they will charge like 20 bucks.
Blizzard is charging 10$ for D2 and another 10$ for the expansion so...
An incredible milestone for GOG, well done!

Fallen_Zen: Only on GOG.
The gamepage mentions "resolution support", does this means it goes all the way up to 1080p or higher?
It's tempting but for that price and without controller support I'll wait for a sale. Is would be weird to play it with a mouse and keyboard since I originally played this on playstation.

Pawel1995: WOW! That is huge surprise from Blizzard after what is happening for the last 2+ years with their company.

Please the same for Warcraft III Remastered when it comes out ;-) (probably won't happen, but you have a chance to surprise me once more :D)
Warcraft I + II are next to come. :p

MMLN: Any chance of bringing along also the Hellfire expansion?

Ixamyakxim: Back "in the day" it was common for like any Tom Dick and Harry operation to make an expansion - some of those bootleg expansion operations eventually went on to become "real" development studios. Hellfire was made by some strange little company so it'd probably require a lot more digging to get that one here.

Fun fact - there were companies that would put out boxes like every other month of "maps" for games like Warcraft - or pretty much anything with a scenario editor - and sell them LOL. Even back then I never really understood *quite* how that was legal, but it happened ALL THE TIME.

Imagine that in this day and age!
IIRC Hellfire was an official expansion made by Sierra, which is now part of Activision as well. Please correct me if I am wrong.
