Brick out these construction plans.

Craft The World, a sandbox strategy game where you build your own dwarf fortress, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows and Mac with GOG Galaxy support for achivements and multiplayer and a 50% launch discount.

Conquering the world can be a pretty epic and thrilling undertaking, but it usually leaves you saddled with the resources and constructions of its previous owner(s). Where's the fun in that? Play God instead, and manage your own tribe of laborious dwarves as they build a home for themselves on a randomly generated island, full of opportunities and untapped real estate potential.

Mine the surface and subsurface world for resources, build a fortress fit for a vertically challenged king, and defeat any malicious creatures that want to claim it for themselves. Grow your dwarf workforce, craft them better weapons and equipment but also provide them with food, furniture, ammunition, and decent living conditions. And if you Craft The World as impressive as your divine powers allow, be prepared to use your magic in order to discourage the hordes of monsters that will come pouring through portals to bang at your doors.

Craft The World as sturdy, stylish, and efficient as you please, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% discount will last until February 10, 1:59 PM GMT.

darthspudius: Looks like Terraria... about the 100th game to do so.
Imho this one has a lot more charm than Terraria ;)
Actually I own the latter in here and never gave it a go. Should I?
Bear in my that I play alone ;P

You should definitely give Terraria a try, it's surprisingly a lot of fun. I only play it on single player.
God simulation, sandbox, crafting, rts, tower defence, magic... another swiss knife game! :D

Looks very nice but I think I'll stick with Terraria for now - after all I have so many things to do there and I don't want to be "distracted" by similar games, at least for now. :)

That's my issue now. I've been playing Terraria all week but I have a severe itch for any and all clones.

It's a pretty massive timesucker, even in solo play. So much so that I haven't dared to load it in a couple of months, because I won't make any progress on my backlog of other games for a while. Even though I still haven't managed to beat the Eye of Cthulhu yet, which is taunting me on a regular basis. Y'know, maybe I should load it up for a quick peek tonight when I get home...NO! That way lies madness!

Definitely give it a go but beware it's addictive nature; hours fly by before you even know it. I'm playing SP too! ;)
For a second I thought it's Craft the War ..I guess one sees what he wants to see :-P
This is NOT like Terraria. You indirectly control a bunch of dwarves by giving them commands to mine, explore, build and kill: sort of like semi-casual 4x Strategy game only you enemy isn't another player or AI; it's merely monsters (and perhaps tougher monsters like bosses).

I enjoyed this game a lot, surprisingly so because it's challenging and relaxing all at the same time and of all the hundreds of games I've played, maybe 5 to 10 games fell into that category, this is one of them.

What it has most in common with Terraria is its addictive feature. BEWARE!

Well, by now I guess you must have played Terraria more hours than all of us combined. :P Maybe it's time to switch for a change.. ;)

Dayum! That looks good!
Apart from making one glass pyramid covered in snow (when snow first got added) I tend to just make narrow rooms on top of more narrow rooms.

Time to get creative I guess ;)
Looks like we really have to make a " Where the hell is this week's classic release ? " thread .

Thanks. I'm digging somehow deep into this one and loving it so far. Yep, completely different from these mentioned games but I'm scared that these games will somehow suck me dry ;D
Okay before I fork over my $10, is there any kind of learning curve/tutorial or am I under constant barrage of attacks and time limits?

One thing I love about Terraria is that, before Hardmode, you can TAKE YOUR TIME!!!! :D

I'm afraid the remove the seal that covers this one, pal. Once I'm into something addictive, damn, it's hard to come back!

;(
Why do they even make games like these in a time and age where there's simply no decent time to enjoy 'em?
Jokes aside, yes, I'm an adult man. Grrrooovy, eh?! :(
