Standing the test of time.

Caesar & Caesar II, two solid building blocks of the city-building genre, are now available, DRM-free on GOG.com!

From the ancient, almost-top-down visuals of the original to the far more detailed isometric cities of Caesar II, these are the games that successfully introduced a strong historical context into the city-building strategy games. Aspiring to become Caesar is the ultimate motivation but bettering the lives of your little Romans by setting up sensible infrastructure, proper entertainment, or impressive monuments, never stops being fun.
Nice, nice, nice! Keep those oldies coming, GOG!

Dungy69: Well, we still need the Hi-Res adventures.
Hi-Res Adventure #1: Mystery House have a public domain version.
Anyone can download it freely and legally.
Of course I also want to see them appear in GOG, with many other Good Old Apple ][ Games!

Heh, I think I still have the 'Hi-Res Adventures' on CD as part of the 'Roberta Williams Anthology' somewhere, Not sure if I ever gave them a proper go though...

Good day for city builders fan. I hope I was one as I love them when i read the description but find them boring when playing them. It might just be that I have yet to find the right one yet.

I think Hi-Res Adventure #3 and #4 are missing from that collection.
#3: Ulysses and the Golden Fleece
#4: Cranston Manor
I guess my review wasn't well taken: https://www.gog.com/game/caesar_ii

I'm surprised they didn't bundle them together in one package. Caesar 1 really isn't worth buying with its outrageously dated design. Just sayin'.

I had good times with Caesar 2 in the mid-'90s, but now that I have Caesar 3 I wonder if there is actually any point in buying the previous game.

Do not worry! I smiled when I read it :-)

I am also surprised C 1+2 not bundled together.

Awesome! I'll probably get Caesar II at some point, considering I only ever played a friend's borrowed copy for years before finally giving it back to him a few years ago. :P But I'm not sure I'll still be able to get into it; I certainly wasn't able to drum up any interest in Caesar III or Pharaoh after buying them here.
Caesar, on the other hand...I think not. :)

Activision. This is the company that thinks a generic time travel shooter from more than half a decade ago (whose name I couldn't even remember without looking it up) is worth $30.
Plebs are needed!

Oh, yes. Emperor? instabuy, even though it has unpredictable micro-management due to hero demi-gods demanding a specific stockpile of resources.
Caesar II is also worthy, but it should have been bundled with the first instance rather than selling it as a separate game. C1 is simply not good enough to warrant a separate sale.
I don't claim to know how many remaining Sierra games would actually be worth GOG's time to bring, but there are quite a few still left: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Sierra_Entertainment_video_games

The one that immediately catches my eye : Adventures of Willy Beamish. Wicked fun adventure game. Island of Dr Brain would be great too, though that might just be the nostalgia talking.
Nice releases, wishlisted for now

I'll just detonate my NOLF nuke in this thread, and run away from the "it is impossible to happen" tsunami that comes right after ;).Cheers

I would love to see the 3D Ultra Pinball series, but I'm not sure what the compatibility of those would be like, not to mention general interest.
