Luned: Said it before, I'll say it again...as far as this particular election goes, I'm an ABC voter.

Anybody But Clinton.

I didn't vote for her. I also don't live in NY.

I'm mostly hoping that this is the election that fosters long-overdue splintering into 4-5 parties.
For the primaries? I'm with ya. For the general election? I dunno, as much as it pains me to say this as a good conservative, I'd sooner vote Hillary than Donald "WWIII" Trump.

GothikOrk: In all likelihood, Senator Bernie Sanders can no longer win the Democratic nomination.
avatar
timppu: I think you are a covert Trump supporter. After all, everyone knows that if Sanders won the democrat elections, he'd be a much weaker opponent against Trump.

Sanders vs Trump => Trump wins (because Sanders is a radical hippie commie)

Clinton vs Trump => Clinton wins (because Clinton is less objectionable than Trump; I am pretty sure even many Republicans will vote for Clinton if Trump is the other option, or alternatively not vote at all)

As simple as that.
I don't think so. At least Sanders doesn't seem to be pure evil. A lot of conservatives I know would literally vote anyone other than Trump.

Maybe I'll feel differently when my businesses get taxed into oblivion :P

How many more elections do we have to suffer through until Google finally develops something to replace these insufficient political systems?

Starmaker: Not really. Sanders and Kasich are actually favorites in a free-for-all, and Sanders wins against Trump. Tjeck ur facts.

X-com: I think you're also overdue for changing the order you write a date from MM/DD/YYYY to DD/MM/YYYY:

Starmaker: The correct order is YYYY-MM-DD.
DD/MM/YYYY.

I've been thinking that we need to break the mindset of "Vote for the lesser evil". If neither party can put up an acceptable candidate, then signal them to stop screwing around by casting a vote for someone else entirely so your non-vote doesn't just register as unmotivated apathy.

If you can't vote a third party, but you aren't required to vote for a president to do any other voting, then vote on everything else to show you cared enough to show up.

The problem with that strategy is that if you don't show up to vote for the lesser evil, THE GREATER EVIL WINS.

edit edit: so yeah, you should be campaigning for preferential. Preferential also has failure states which have in some cases been reached, but if centrism and lack of choice are problems, preferential voting is the bee's knees. However, the primary process is a decent simulacrum of preferential. In a centrist gridlock, the idea is to persuade the eventual winner to support your policies. And if you happen to have FPTP and primaries, the primaries is where you do it. As Wonkette put it a year ago, "Bernie Sanders will be president of forcing Hillary to act like an actual liberal".

I dislike Hillary for two reasons.

1. She is huge liar and plutocrat. Trump may be not very "sealed" above, but he tells things straight as they are.

2. This face expression [url=http://static4.businessinsider.com/image/557da1c36da8113a4f7e02fc-1200-1500/rtr37oa9.jpg]2 [url=http://media.breitbart.com/media/2016/02/Britney-Spears-Hillary-Clinton-Instagram-640x480.jpg]ugh Scary and unnatural, like a zombie. :/

It's only been 16 years since you guys last tried that. I'm not sure what goes through the minds of those Nader voters from back then when they think back on those glorious days known as the Bush years, but I kinda hope it's not: "I sure showed them".

Uh, isn't Trump the bigger plutocrat of the two? The guy was born in a gold-plated cradle and had more in inheritance than most folks earn in a lifetime. His tax plan also gives the rich a bigger cut than any other candidate.

As for liar, the fact-checking sites rated his fibbing-percentage close to 70%. Just because something is said in a shouting tone doesn't mean it's automatically straight or true.

Technically, we could have something today; but you try telling congressmen to get out of their chairs and never come back, and that their pork barrel projects are null and void. Do you think those bastards would want to give up cushy jobs where they can make millions though crooked deals behind closed doors?

No, Clintons clan have already been at power (like Bush clan) hence she is a plutocrat. USA biggest problems is government corruption, as it is ruled by closed society having very close connections (and funds) from the corporations (oligarchs).

For lying, in regard to Ukraine events, Hilary is the most lying and double-standard person I ever saw. On the contrary, what Trump said was fully correct based upon perceiving of by all parties, - contrary from the self-reassuring bubble, which most of "fact-checking sites" originate from as they are funded by the very same oligarchs that fund the corrupted press (VoA, Radio free *, Soros, NATO or ex-NATO etc; no independent investigative entities) that fleshes out the pre-made program using random unsourced/imaginative, stolen, exchanged information ("or fired!"). I never mentioned the tone as an argument.

It's scary how true that picture is, now probably even more. At least here it represents the situation perfectly. Young (18-30), "hip" people only care about fashion and new Apple gadgets, and actually caring and knowing anything about politics and world events is a big social no-no.
I can understand if people are willing to take a chance on Hillary being the least venomous snake in the snake pit. But why all the enthusiasm about voting for her?
