"Dead men tell no tales".

"The worm they crushed will become the dragon to devour them".
Well, we made it farther than I thought before someone mentioned the barkeep from Boondock Saints ^_^
"It is only when a mosquito lands on your testicles that you realize there is always a way to solve things without using violence."

"Those begging for rain in the desert will only get sand."
Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Old Klingon proverb.
The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears this is true.
James Branch Cabell, The Silver Stallion, 1926
"The grass is always greener on the other side of the septic tank."

tinyE: Why is this thread here!?

Seriously, are there people actually running around trying to get rid of verbs!?

Oh wait....
Proverbs are mental gems gathered in the diamond fields of the mind, my green friend.

I'm not 101% sure that's how it goes... :P

What did he really mean by saying that?
Those whose houses are made of glass, should change their clothes in the basement.

Nirth: What did he really mean by saying that?
It's a quicker (albeit arguably more dangerous) way to get drunk. And from what I've heard about Russians, that's sort of what they're all about.

Nirth: What did he really mean by saying that?
He literally usually meant that why is there no beer as a chaser to vodka.

Breja: Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Old Klingon proverb.
So revenge is like vichyssoise?
"Der Geist ist willig aber das Fleisch ist schwach." Raw translation:"The mind is willing, but the body (flesh) is weak."
Once they translated this via a translation software into Russian and back into German, and the result was:"Der Wodka ist gut, aber das Fleisch ist verdorben." In english:"The Vodka is good, but the meat is rotten!"
:-D
