I'm not saying that everyone everywhere thinks and believes the same thing here. But I can leave the East Coast, were I live and go nearly anywhere and find common ground and a similar values and beliefs nearly anyway, especially areas without a huge influx immigration problem regardless of race, etc.

I bet when an American comes to the Netherlands, you can tell their an American just by how they talk or act... we do have things that make us distinctive.

If not wanting to incentivize people who are here illegally to remain here by giving them welfare (which I'm not including as money or benifits from the governemt) but rather the cost to society and tax payers, and indirect cost (ie having kids that become citizens by being born here), an education, and employment (due to all the valid reasons I listed above that would not benifit actual citizens) makes you "racist" then so be it. You've cleary have not had to witness an illegal immigrant get support, while an actual citizen didn't get anything, even though they clearly needed it. You actually have less value in America as a citizen. Sorry but that's not how this is suppose to work.

One of my best friends in college was a DREAMER (his family was from Mexico), didn't know it at the time but it doesn't change how I feel about him. He is a good person and I still consider him a friend, if I seen him today I would be happy to talk to him and catch up. Doesn't mean I agree with how he came to be here or that he shouldn't be holding his family responsible for his current situation rather than a Government that has no responsibility for him.

Just to be clear on it, I also want to clarify that a changing American culture is fine... if done slowly. Again we come back to controlled immigration with integration. Obvously I don't expect my kids to experience that same exact culture in America that I have but I do expect certain values and beliefs to remain true like our belief in our constitution which is our foundation as Americans.

But culture will naturally morph and change. What we have to day was forged by many different cultures which integrated into the established culture over a period of time. That's all well and good.

What uncontrolled immigration causes is a lot of different cultures all popping up to compete against the dominate culture where there is no slow morph. I don't want my kids growing up under a Mexican culture no more than I want them growing up under a British culture.

When you have a large group of people migrate to one area in a short amount of time, what ends up happening is they expect society to change and accommodate them (ie making room for them) rather than what it should be them conforming to the established culture and society since they chose to migrate.
