The original creators of wanted to do some updates to the voice work of a game they created over a decade ago, and did so, unprompted?

OH THE HORROR!

I'd be super pissed off if the original games were not availa...oh, they are. Yeah, drummed up outrage machine strikes again.

What a rip-off.

So, they used the fans of classic point & click games to startup Telltale, and as soon as they started having some success, shat all over their old customers, to chase after that sweet mainstream.

Now they're doing it all over again. WITH THE SAME PRODUCTS.

Fool me once, darling.
Cool, So the resolution tool will also do this:
"The remaster has dynamic lighting and improved lip sync. You can play with the original point & click mouse controls, or a keyboard, or a gamepad—whatever floats your boat. All of the game’s original audio, which was compressed like crazy to keep download sizes small, has been remastered and re-encoded from the original source files, with modern high-quality audio codecs. All of the character models have been tweaked, including Sam and Max with Steve’s input. A new user interface and opening credits sequence make the game feel like one cohesive whole rather than six separate episodes. Some key scenes have been punched up with new acting and camerawork, and we created a couple of new exterior locations for establishing shots. Composer Jared Emerson-Johnson even wrote five new jazz tracks performed by some of the original musicians."

Nice to know ;)

A specific episode (can't remember which) had indeed huge issues with bad quality voices.

Of course the resolution tool includes a jazz music generating module:

Maighstir: I just wish Steve Purcell would get some new Sam & Max project going - comic, video game, movie, series, whatever. Oh well, I guess he's busy with more mainstream Pixar stuff.

Breja: I'm with you. I'd love a new Sam & Max point & click, not a re-hash. Or a new cartoon series, preferably from Adult Swim. I mean yeah, there is a new game in the works, but it's VR-only, so it might as well not exist at all.
Oooohh! F*CK! Now I need to save up for a VR headset.

"They recast the voice actor for Bosco, because it was a black character voiced by a white actor, a creative decision that didn't exactly sit right with the team when they decided to revisit it."

I may have just sprained an eye due to how hard they just rolled.

I loved the original Bosco, other than S&M he was my favourite character, the actor who portrayed him was great, he did his job correctly, there's no reason to replace him other than to pander to the perpetually offended... who in the main aren't even the consumers of the products they complain about in the first place.

I'm 100% with Breja and Joppo on this.
