MaxFulvus: Isn't it Aspyr who released here Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse and never updated it to the latest version ?
Be careful...
At least Crystal Dynamics is involved this time, and I THINK Tomb Raider Trilogy Remastered is updated, but I don't own the game, so someone could correct me.
If we already own Legacy of Kain 1-5 which includes Soul Reaver 1+2 is there any discount, or maybe a free upgrade ^_^

Probably not, but do we get to keep the old ones? Sometimes I feel nostalgic for the old graphics!

A good old game? Here? WTF

The remaster lets you switch to the original graphics if you want. As for keeping the old ones, I am not gog or CDPR or whatever, but I feel pretty confident in saying that yes, you get to keep the old ones. Thats how gog always works. It will most likely appear as a separate game in your games collection.
I use to play these games so much when I was a kid. Very excited for the remastered versions <3

They are not going to yank it out of your library. But anyone who didn't get it before it got pulled is out of luck and at best, will have to fork out 30 bucks to get to the original version as a goodie with the remaster (assuming it even gets included).
Iove Soul Reaver games, but I'm broke at the moment so is a wishlist for now! Thanks a lot for this Aspyr and GOG!

GOG.com: Legacy of Kain™ Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered

Experience the epic conflict of Kain and Raziel in original form or with remastered graphics
The remastered graphics sure look nice(r).
But since I already own the originals, I think I'll wait for a better discount.
Will it have English subtitles?

Oriza-Triznyák: Already own the original Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver games , but i see a " soon " label in the library of the first game .

Is this means we will get the remastered versions for free ?

WinterSnowfall: Doubtful. More likely whoever gets the remasters will also get the base games for free.
I also noticed this "soon" and wondered about it.
Whatever it means, I just downloaded the original version, just in case.

Definitely been waiting for this for many, many years. Wrace's patch, imho, was the only decent way to play the PC release along with Soul Fixer for the sequel. So....instabuy. I'd love to play without having to patch and tweak and with better textures.

In terms of the graphics, I'm not upset at all. I was a huge fan back in the day and frequented the EIDOS forums until they went the way of the dinosaur. As such, we got to have a lot of contact with the developers such as Amy Henning and the like....can't recall the other names to be honest. There were even a handful of members who were allowed to visit CD studio in Seattle for a tour (I'm looking at you Lost World's Ben Lincoln). It was always their wish(conveyed frequently) to have the graphics of Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance for the original Soul Reaver and to have the cutscene models match the in-game models. So, some say it's too cartoonish or bright (at least Soul Reaver). I'd suggest to go back and look at the comics, the action figures, promotional art, etc. SR2 was the leap from the ps1 to the ps2 and they were actually aiming for a brighter palette. To me, they are now looking the way they looked in my mind all those years ago. So, I'm glad that the graphics style of both games will now mesh as was intended. After all...SR2 was actually not supposed to be a sequel, but rather, it was content that couldn't fit in the first game because of time deadlines and physical media limitations.

As for gameplay...well, SR1 was awesome running on that Tomb Raider Engine, and SR2 was definitely a graphical upgrade. Neither game has good combat, but that's not the point of the LOK series. It's about the story!!!! Here's hoping for a Remaster of Defiance (definitely good combat)...and Yes, even the alternate timeline BO2.(repetitive blocking and striking that gets boring quickly).

I don't think we'll ever see a remaster of the original Blood Omen though, as Silicon Knight's Denis Dyack won't have it.

If I were to wager a guess, the new graphic novel Kickstarter is hinting at something. A game developer isn't going to write a novel for no reason................................for a game that only older people would know of......then release remasters on current consoles. LoK Dead Sun, anyone?

It's ABOUT TIME!!!

The Legacy of Kain franchise has been dormant for far too long. Remasters like this, with the ability to play the originals as well is a great idea. Something for old fans, and introducing it to new players. Hope that this does well, maybe we will get more from the world of Nosgoth if it does.... Maybe that is just wishful thinking. Regardless, these titles deserve a great remaster. One of the greatest video game franchises ever!

Xeshra: There is no need to give a discount "if people still buy it". this is something the industry was learning the hard way, so most prices in general are increasing. Sales may help yet, but many games are becoming "the real price" during a sale while the normal price is just "to much". However, to me DRM free is a higher value so i always pay more for it... but bear (with) me if i see those locked down stuff, i may become the most stingy person ever.

If i want to play this series on PC, for the first 2 titles, the remaster is the only way because i was never able to get the classics to run on my PC... there was tons of issues and even crashing. All those "mods" was useless to me, those games simply are highly incompatible with a modern OS. They may run properly with a "3dfx Voodoo-emulator" but this is now going to far for me... especially because there is a remaster soon.

Sadly, the community was barely helping... a lot of "guessing" how to mod it but finally, for me it never was working properly. So those games have been thrown out of my collection. Looking forward to the remastered and even the pad support would be great to have.
Wrace's Patch for Soul Reaver. Soul Fixer for SR2. Runs flawlessly on Windows 11

Soul Fixer did not work for me, maybe i am to stupid to use it properly but in general i was able to patch almost any broken game with good results, so i got some experience already. No clue about the first patch.

No, that's not how GOG always works.

For example, owners of one of the original Rollercoaster Tycoon games did not get to keep that original version when it was replaced with a new version that had content censored out of it. Rather, the new censored version replaced the original uncensored version in everyone's libraries.
