Doubtful. More likely whoever gets the remasters will also get the base games for free.

But we received the remastered version of Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy for free .

Nothing about restored cut content? Was kind of expecting at least something as there is a TON of material that did not make it into the games back then.

zlaywal: I certainly don't have $29.99 but it would be nice if the original Soul Reaver be available as a bonus. Or restore them to the store so we could buy it again.

Sucks as I bought the other 4 games in the series and missed it.
I'd expect it to at least get included as a goodie with the remaster. Original Tomb Raiders remained here, but Soul Reaver 1 got pulled under pretty nebulous circumstances while the TR games were never pulled in the first place. And at this point, I doubt the original is making a comeback as a standalone. Although, the game was in very deep sales quite frequently before it got pulled. If you did not get it back then, chances are you weren't really interested in the game that much to begin with.

That being said, everyone should get the rest of the series in the future sales, just to be on the safe side.

Glaucos: The brighter light and colors don't match the tone of the original game, it looks like plastic toys.
Pretty much every single remaster does that and I too have been wondering why. My theory? In the past, TN displays have been the most prominent. However, if you put the same content on something like IPS or OLED, it shows up much darker than intended unless you:
A) Increase the monitor brightness to eye-searing levels
B) Artificially brighten up the content so that it looks "normal" on display technologies other than TN

One can't expect the end user to be even remotely competent with IT these days, so B is the option everybody picks. Which sucks for me, because I use a TN display, meaning "remastered" in this way makes everything look washed out with overbrightness and completely changes the vibe of the games. And contrary to popular belief, TN displays can still be great as they too have been getting new iterations. Being able to view everything comfortably with the monitor brightness at 20-25% is a life-saver for everyone with light-sensitive eyes, not to mention gentler on the eyes and the retina in general. Everyone raves about max brightness, HDR etc. and here I am "Which monitor will not burn my eyes out and won't give me a headache if viewed for more than 30 minutes?". And it's not like TN displays disappeared from the face of the planet, same as most people think with disc drives for example. Still extremely glad I got my hands on the Lenovo Legion y27gq-25 monitor several years back.

Very good idea indeed
Oof, 30 bucks is a bit much.

30 for both games is not that bad, especially when compared to the $30 for the Dark Force remaster, which wasn't much better than the XL engine mod. ND still did a good job on it, but it's just pricey.

I know this is not an ND remaster

And kudos for that, people need to know.
Instapreorder, was hoping for this one to show up.
Doesn't look bad. Having actually working gamepad controls on PC would certainly be nice; the first two games in the series are a bit of a pain to play with KB+M. Hopefully this is more TR Remaster than Battlefront clusterfuck. =P

Memecchi: that RTX 2080 for recommended is crazy tho
No kidding. There's no way a game looking like that needs that much power, unless it's one of the most unoptimized games in history.

I get you, and bear in mind I'm clearly biased, as I'm a huge fan of the Soul Reaver/Raziel arc within the Legacy of Kain series (including Defiance), but I don't think it's expensive at all. You're getting two of the best narrative games ever made for the price of a recently released "AA" title, it seems appropriate, to me. I mean, it's definitely a better deal than having to pay 60 $/€ for that Nordic remaster of Epic Mickey, which was a mid game at best when it was released, despite Warren Spector being associated with it. Also, unlike Epic Mickey, there's no paid costume DLC, you pay for two games, you get the two games plus some cut content, retweaked graphics, an interactive map, support for modern controllers AND redesigned camera and mouse+keyboard controls (they're even adding a skybox to accommodate the new camera).

Like I said, I do get you, I'm not going to tell you to go "work" or that if "you're poor, you don't deserve to be gaming, anyway", those are extremely stupid and mean things to tell people. I don't have that money, myself, right now, to spend on this game, what with life, capitalism, bills, rent... the whole shebang. But I will buy it eventually, probably gift myself an early Christmas present, because I do believe the pricing is fair for what we're getting.

viperfdl: Never played the originals. Maybe I should give this games finally a try.
Same here! Well, I think I've played one of them for like 10 minutes but I'll definetly give the remasters a bigger shot :)
I had heard the original games had some sound/music issues so hopefully that's fixed as well.

Yeah, as far as I know they haven't announced ray tracing or anything like that, I hope it's just a placeholder because as much as I love Legacy of Kain... a bloated, poorly optimazed remaster is not something I want to support
