I'm usually not a fan of the flat pastel colors pseudoretro super low pixel style but this game's visuals look amazing. I think the gradient lighting effects add a lot to butter up the atmosphere even if the effect isn't as dramatic as in e.g. Halfway. Gives things a dreamlike and soothing surreal cozy look.

yogsloth: Not gonna lie, that artwork looks terrible. I can't tell what I'm looking at. It's just a day-glo schmear.
It looks gorgeous in the promo video, but I have to say my impression from the static screenshots was exactly the same as yours.
Interesting art style and exploring lost civilizations? I'm game! Looking at the video, the game doesn't seem to have brutal difficulty as a selling point either, that's a plus in my book.
What a horrid art-style, you can barely even see what's going on in the screens. Yet more untalented artists hiding behind the veil of "creativity".
Hell yes. Been waiting for this game. So happy to see it on GOG!
Love the way the game looks. Can't wait for it to be released.
Where is the release date? Or is it "this century"?

It has its own charm i guess.
i myself dont fancy these games, i am not that happy with all those games that are to blocky.
With blocky (dos) games you can run it in a smaller dos box windows this way i looks a little better.
Sometime if its to blocky i just run it in a small window, this way it looks better.

Graphics are pretty low on my list of priorities, but when the graphics actually obscure your vision and make it difficult to play the game I draw the line.

BrokenBull: Here is a good look at the game on YouTube:

Fairfox: Not my kind of genre, but even though I grew up ageees ago (kinda) and like pixel art in general, watching this game makes my head fuzzy :/.
I understand what you mean about the graphics. I don't mind the graphics, but the gameplay looks a little boring to me. So far it doesn't look anything special to me.
That's great! Been waiting for SO LONG for this. Not gonna preorder ( since I never do ) but I really wish this game is going to be worth the wait.
I know it's unlikely, but does anyone know if Hyper Light Drifter will include the soundtrack as an extra freebie?
The gameplay video of this actually hurts my eyes. I don't mind pixel graphics, but something about this is just painful. I could only watch for about a minute and had to close it.
This looks really cool! Wishlisted. Kinda the action-rpg with FEZ graphics. :D Definitely grabbing it.
