Delayed, with a silver lining...

November 3, 2015 - UPDATE:
Due to publisher request, both the base edition and Collector's Edition of Hard West are again available 20% off during pre-orders - purchasing the standard edition will no longer grant access to the Collector's Edition of the game.
If you previously purchased the standard edition, your pre-order will still be automatically upgraded to the Collector's Edition. Look out for a confirmation email before the game's release.
If you purchased the Collector's Edition before November 3, 2:45 PM GMT, you'll soon receive a discount code for any Devolver or Gambitious game on GOG.com. A token of appreciation for your support.

October 30, 2015 - UPDATE:
The Hard West release date has been officially pushed back by two weeks to November 18 - but there is a silver lining! Gambitious Digital Entertainment are making the Collector's Edition available for the price of the standard edition to everyone who preorders the game.
If you already bought the standard edition, your pre-order will be automatically upgraded to the Collector's Edition. Look out for a confirmation email before the game's release.
If you purchased the Collector's Edition you'll soon find a discount code for any GOG.com Devolver or Gambitious game on your game shelf. A token of appreciation for your support.

<span class="bold">Hard West</span>, a brutal Wild West tactical RPG, is available for pre-orders now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 20% pre-order discounts.

The Hard West is a dangerous West, a weird West - a world of supernatural forces clashing with human greed, remains and traces of black pacts haunting the dusty roads and saloons. Hard West is hard. In true spirit of a wild, wild west - it's a game that seems to get satisfaction from making sure you never, ever, feel safe and secure. A bullet is a bullet, and folks aren't made out of sponge. They do, however, have an arsenal of tricks and abilities at their disposal - that, and a healthy dose of luck. Your tactical options will include dynamic, improvised cover, ricochets, and using shadows (not just yours) for every advantage you can get.

Hard West is a game that focuses on offering plenty of depth and unfamiliar twists on your favorite kind of squad-based, tactical gameplay.

Your pre-order includes the <span class="bold">Hard West - Digital Collector's Edition</span> complete with a Digital Artbook, Original Digital Comic Book, and the Full Original Digital Soundtrack, all for the price of the regular edition.

Pre-order <span class="bold">Hard West</span>, DRM-free on GOG.com. The discount will last for the duration of pre-orders.
Nice! I have a normal edition myself, thanks to Gr00t so it would be upgraded sometime before release right? I saw that Collector's edition was not marked as owned and panicked a bit. My apologies for asking something basic like that.

Also I think it is generous of developers to do the upgrade for free. Hope they use the time to make the game really good.

I preordered the Collector's Edition but I already have every Devolver and Gambitous game in the GOG catalog, so a discount code would be useless to me. Can I get my four bucks back?

You could ask support for a refund on collector's edition and get the 16$ one after.

I mean the Movie genre used to be pretty big allthough there arent that many wild west movies coming out these days.

Come to think about, According to Gog's TOS you can ALWAYS ask for a refund, no question asked, on any Pre-Order, prior to launch.
So I guess the discount was more of a gesture of appreciation rather than Collector Ed. Pre-Order Benefit, As you do have 2 more weeks to cancel and repreorder for less, as mentioned earlier. I guess you will keep the discount code even if you do.
The news of the delay come with this nice video btw.

The game cards still read November 4.

So what part of the game are you responsible for and what language do you develop in?

P.S. Much impressed (and a bit jealous)...

Niggles: Since game is a KS one, i suspect the soundtrack offered here might only be MP3 (FLAC reserved for backers?) ?.. just a guess. I emailed support asking them anyway as the gamecard lacks details......

deonast: Thanks. Guess we will find out soon enough
Response from support:

"Hello,
I am afraid that we are not yet certain about the format of the files in the soundtrack we will be offering.
But according to the game's Kickstarter page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1752350052/hard-west/posts/971829 it is going to be distributed in FLACs and OGGs.

Off that link note "Note: the digital soundtrack format on the image is artistic impression; we're not 100% sure at this time we'll release mp3s (because of licensing), but we're positive on .ogg and .flac."

I dont understand this. Is there separate licensing for mp3 vs other formats? (first i ever heard of this).

Other formats like FLAC could be "exclusive" to the artist if they want to sell them separately on bandcamp or other platforms.

That's an odd one, though ogg is pretty open it isn't as supported as MP3. There used to be royalty issues around MP3 though I thought that was on playback software and hardware and maybe encoders, though looking at this link it appears distribution also carries a cost. This is one reason a lot of games use ogg for their audio files (when you play the game) though I had thought some of the patents had expired.

http://mp3licensing.com/royalty/

Though looking at wikipedia under the licensing section it appears to be that a few patents may be valid depending on where in the world you are https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP3

This another reason I like FLAC, lossless and less patent issues.
Ogg is technically superior but pretty similar to mp3 (better sound quality, I believe a bit easier/more efficient to implement playback code) . But then you'll have the flacs so you can convert those into whatever format you wish :)
i am interested in pre-ordering the game but due to some members negatively commenting on the regional pricing i was wondering if anyone could tell me if the UK pricing is maybe not as great and maybe worth me waiting until after launch when the pricing may be better with higher discount??

anyone?

The regional pricing for Hard West sucks as the game costs more in GB and EU countries than in the US.

You can compare the prices here:

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/good_news_price_updates/post648
thanks for the link impaler :)

* Regional price for Hard West Collector's Edition [Premium] [Upcoming] is $28.79 instead of $24.99 in regGB

wow that is high compared to the others below....the others must come with 75% discounts by default looking at them prices :(

* Regional price for Hard West Collector's Edition [Premium] [Upcoming] is ""$11.99"" instead of $24.99 in regMX, regBR
* Regional price for Hard West Collector's Edition [Premium] [Upcoming] is ""$6.49"" instead of $24.99 in regRU, regUA, regUZ
