Delayed, with a silver lining...

November 3, 2015 - UPDATE:
Due to publisher request, both the base edition and Collector's Edition of Hard West are again available 20% off during pre-orders - purchasing the standard edition will no longer grant access to the Collector's Edition of the game.

Daliz: I backed this. Hopefully they'll give GOG keys to backers :)
I also backed, though as a Paypal backer. Imagine my surprise that it was coming soon :) I hadn't received any updates since i got the early access steam key, and frankly kinda forgot about it. I have also asked about getting a gog key, so I suppose lets see what happens.

The project promised a DRM-free version, and so far I don't have one, so maybe gog will be that one.

gamesfreak64: [...] the only good wild west game i bought immediately when it came out ( i even bought 2 retail copies ) was Desperados...
I bought that too but haven't really played it yet, just tried it a bit and find it's actually a commandos in wild west, which is a nice thing. As for Cooper's Revenge, I haven't bought it yet because... i don't like the graphics! *laughs* Seriously now, when I finish the first one, I'll consider buying the second.

As for the demos, you are right in everything you say! I can't even remember when was the last time I found a demo version of a game I was interested, other than the great Spiderweb games. But those don't need a demo - everybody knows they are great. :)

STASIS has a demo if that game interests you at all.

cyboff: No pre-order this time ;) I'm waiting for a key ;)
Think of it as a kind of super pre-order!

You're right! I'm very interested in this game but the price is too steep for me right now. So I'll have to wait a bit. :)

Wild West is a very underused theme. And it's turn based, which I love... I might just have to get it.
A lone stranger enters the bar, his duster billowing in the wind. The piano player ceases playing his jaunty tune and deafening silence blankets the room. An empty bar stool awaits the stranger beside a scratched whisky-stained counter, and he moves purposely towards it, the clinking of his spurs lending his stride an air of confidence.

‘What’ll it be?’ the barkeep asks, eyeing the stranger cautiously while washing a glass with a spit-soaked rag.

‘Whisky’ the stranger grunts.

‘May I suggest something a lil’ different?’ the barkeep inquires, and without pause reaches under the bar to present a copy of Hard West. ‘You look like a hard man; this here’s one of those new-fangled games for folk like you. Supposed to be about gunslingers and magic.’

‘I’ll take 10.’

’10?’ the barkeep exclaims in surprise. ‘Never seen anyone buy 10 before!’

‘I'm very hard’ the stranger says, and with that announcement he slaps some bills onto the counter and walks out the door never to be seen again.
When I saw this on the front page I thought a wild west game sounds fun. Read the description and I just love the idea. I even considered pushing my usual price bracket, as I would have backed it on KS had I known about it.
If I had less of a backlog I would have bought it, but for now it will have to wait.
"Unique 'Weird' West World" Bring it on!
New developer on gOg. Yay! I like to see not only a bump in the catalog, but also a bump in the number of devs / pubs supplying the games here.

Oh, and it looks pretty cool. Got a couple other similar titles already in the backlog so purchase of this one will need to wait a bit.
I'm also a backer, glad to see this on GOG.
So... tempted...

I still have two games on my "to get" list that are maybe a bit similar (Invisible, Inc and Age of Decadence) but I know AoD is probably a bit further out.

Love the price, love the idea of supporting them for showing up on GoG, torn because I don't like adding to my backlog - especially as I just picked up only my second day one release ever! (Rebel Galaxy).

But I did flip out when I first heard about this one from someone here (LOVED the idea of turn based RPG in the Weird West). I might have to break my will by looking for some Let's Play type stuff showing the "metagame" (the action and actions outside of combat). Was this ever in early access / "preview" / early build - will I have luck finding a video of this anywhere? I saw parts of one that was strickly in combat - hopefully an early review play will show up soon!

Also, sorry to derail and take away from this one - but in the vein of a similar game - anyone know if The Banner Saga 2 is releasing this year?

No hard release date yet. Just sometime during winter.
