Be the very first to play!

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now available to preload on GOG.com. If you have pre-ordered the anticipated, next-generation RPG, you can choose to pre-load the game and be one of the very first to play once it goes live on May 19th.

The simplest way to preload the game is through the just-released GOG Galaxy Beta. GOG Galaxy is fully integrated into the DRM-free release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and includes convenient auto-updates, game time tracking and achievements. Of course, you can also preload manually by downloading the available files off your shelf on the website.

The preload includes subtitles in every language and full English voiceovers. Once the game is live, you'll have the option to download an additional ~3GB language pack with voiceovers in your preferred language.

The complete original soundtrack is also available for download today alongside the preload, just in time to set the proper mood for the ruthless, dark-fantasy epic. If you preordered the game, you'll find the soundtrack in the bonus goodies section of your shelf. Don't forget, that this is one of the last opportunities to take advantage of the pre-order discounts - that includes the -20% loyalty deal for owners of the previous two The Witcher games on GOG.com!

While you wait, check out one of the sexiest previews of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, brought to you by the hilarity-infused Conan O'Brien:

Snap, part of me kind of regrets not preordering. But at the same time I kind of just want to wait for all of the addons to be ready.

Everkeeper: I can't imagine a way that would work without any form of integrated online platform. That, and also Galaxy Client currently has no support for even basic stuff like language selection BEFORE installing the game (right now you basically need to download it twice), let alone achievements. So I'm guessing no, it won't have them at all, not on PC at least.

Matruchus: Not really. Even Train Fever on gog has inbuilt game achievements that unlock when you reach certain game milestones and you don't need any online support for that.
And let's not forget about these:

Pre-downloaded :)
Can't wait now for next Tuesday to have the rest of what I need to play it.

paladin181: Just a week now until release day! I'm pretty excited. I'm all ready to be sick for work with a stomach bug from bad sushi Monday night.
Fortunately we have Memorial Day off of work here... and just to make it more interesting, I took off the prior Friday and the following Tuesday for a nice long weekend. I'll be kicking off the download and have a few days before I can get to play, but I should have ample time to get into it!

CharlesGrey: Sorry if this has been asked before, but I was wondering, since GOG claim that the Galaxy client is completely optional, will Witcher 3 feature in-game achievements, even without the client?
hi! You need Galaxy to see if your achievement gets unlocked.
Nice :D. just started the download
Regarding those achievements - I fail to see the point in them anyway, so I might be biased. To me they simply were never part of game experience. Hi scores I understand, but those little medals (or other things, depending on game) awarded for stuff - I don't. But allright, I get your point.

As for language pack being available for separate download - this is completely idiotic, because you got to download masses of data TWICE in reality. First English (or whatever default language your GOG is set to), and then the pack. It's ridiculous and a step back, and you can't prove otherwise.
So restarting Galaxy doesn' t seem to fix my bug.

Edit:

Nevermind, it fixed it.

Just to be clear -- without the client, the game doesn't have achievements at all? Or am I misunderstanding that "unlocking" part? And are those unlocked achievements and/or scores stored online only?
I'd still like to get some clarification on my questions regarding some stuff from EULA I asked in parallel thread. Because since I do not own the game, I do not want to have my playing right terminated, should CDPR consider something inappropriate.

As far as I know, only the English pack is included by default. So that's only a problem, if you have no interest at all in the English version. At least they didn't just bundle ALL of the voice-overs with the game download. D:

As for achievements, I partially agree. Might play it without them just out of principle, and then maybe look into them on a second playthrough if I feel like it. Doesn't help that some achievement descriptions apparently contain potential spoilers.

Good developers build achievements in game that eventually unlock service related achievements.
Bad developers don't.
Why is this so slow download? 0.1MB/s :D
