tinyE: this is the most depressing GA I've ever seen. XD
this, not in but first thing that comes to mind for me is Mrs. Komenski, my very favorite teacher, 3rd grade. she was so loving, cheerful, often sang and made us perogies. wonderful person, tried to teach us polish but i cant remember it, but that bonding experience had a lasting impression for me of poles in general

Are the perogies served in the States anything like the ones in Poland, or is it a bastardization?

i guess it would depend on who makes them, if its a family recipe vs mass produced, not having ever had a 'real' one I couldnt tell you but the ones ive tried from the store are not very good, very bland and pasty, which im sure they are not supposed to taste like

:P

You should try a Pasty. :P

But we're getting off topic.
lol yes
Bump.
8 hours left.
When I think of "Poland", first thing to come to my mind is the image of the former pope, Karol Wojtyla, who remained pope quite a long time, more than 26 years.
Second thing to come to my mind is the Polish's opposition to the EU about opening the borders to let anybody come in.

I'm in for Deus Ex only.
Not in - looks like an interesting game but I don't know when I'd get to it. Will WL it for future reference though.

Let's see...

Gorecki - might be my favorite symphony
old friend I traveled with who's of Polish ancestry
cute acquaintance who was born there
cuisine: Golabki, pierogi

Congratulations to the winners. And nice choice of selection method there :D
(Heh, nobody applied for Witcher? *checks* Yep, seems so... Hardly unexpected though.)

I've assigned random numbers to all entries and sorted the list descending. I remember that you complained some time ago that you have no luck. Well, to be honest, your entry was the last one on the sorted list... Perhaps you should make some further checks - you may be interesting case from statistics/science perspective! ;)

Yup, it seems that everyone has Witcher One. I hope that also everyone has played, because it's still really interesting game.
Congratulations to the winners! :)

I complained of no luck? Must have been years ago, when indeed I could say that I hadn't really won anything, but on GOG I had quite a lot, and actually relatively recently in a couple of other places too, definitely can't complain anymore when it comes to such contests (in other matters though, oh boy... :/).

And indeed it is, yep.
(On another note, still looking at Lady of the Lake sitting on a shelf and not sure I actually want to read it, considering...)

The first thing I remember when I think about Poland? Winged Hussars of course! I listened to the Sabaton song and can't get it out of my head. CDPR and the Witcher games come in second. Third that comes to mind is a more rural more traditional European country (I know Poland too has cities, but somehow I always perceive it to be more rural than other European countries, possibly because of the Witcher games?). Happy Constitution Day!
Congrats to the winners. Thanks for the contest.
