Tarm: Totally unrelated but isn't there a movie or TV Show with a business with that name? Offworld Trading Company. That name is giving me a itch I can't scratch. :/
that is probably a reminiscence of both "psi 5 trading company" and "o.r.b: off-world resource base". )
The game looks nice. When I saw the thread title it made me think of the old Positech Game Starship Tycoon. Of course it is completely different, but the title made me think of an old game I once enjoyed.

The struggle I have is the fact Starrdock is involved with this title.

When I see Stardock, I have to presume the game will have bugs for some time, and DLC to make the game better then at release.

I have learned to wait on games where Stardock is involved, as typically it is better to wait for their ultimate edition to arrive with all fixes and dlc included.

Other than wishing there were no SD connection, I hope Mohawk Games does well, and the game sells well for them. The game looks like it could be both interesting and fun.
I wonder what the hold up is.

It's a fun game, but it's overpriced. I hope there's a nice release discount when it does come out here, especially considering it's nearly 6 months late.
My own impressions of the game have mostly been negative:
1) it seems to focus on multiplayer
2) it doesn't seem to offer much depth and replayability
3) frantic and short playtime sessions is not what I want from an economic sim

Those are just my impressions from watching gameplay videos though, I haven't played it for myself, so it could be more fun than it looks.

Mine have been very positive:
1) Never played with other humans, but multiplayer with the AI is awesome
2) The market mechanics are pretty much unparalled in depth, replayability is immense due to the different factions and paths to make moneys
3) It is only frantic if you play on a fast speed with other humans, alone with the AI you can pause and slug along on very slow for hours. The game ends just about when other business sims would enter the unlimited money slog phase.

But yeah it is no Capitalism 2 or Patrician 2. It is more like the short old business sims from the Amiga, MadTV for example but with more depth and options and a capable AI.

I am interested in the game so this is good feedback, getting another perspective on it. So as a single-player game you are happy with the content ?

jamotide: ... multiplayer with the AI is awesome ...
Probably just nitpicking but isn't multiplayer with the AI called singleplayer?
If the AI simulates players...:D

There is a campaign mode too, so there is a slight difference. I am pretty happy with the content and optimistic, because there is probably a lot more coming, maybe even mods.
Well, at least the game has a store page here on GoG for a few days now.
Looks like there is some movement towards a release, finally.
Maybe in time for mid-winter?

Here is to hope eternal! (Alright, maybe not the best saying in this case...)
