and you should! it's awesome

nightcraw1er.488: Really, so against all previous releases they will not remove the current fully working version when the enehanced is realeased (at several more times the cost). I would be very suprised if that was the case.
Not played SoD, no need to, the storyline was finished in the originals without any need for some half baked attempt to shoehorn extra bits in.
well classic versions of BG, IWD and Planescape are all added to enhanced editions on GOG, so why wouldn't they do the same with NWN?

At a higher price than the original, this is the key point. If you want the original you have to pay the increased cost for the "enhanced" version. So no choice there.
I love how, despite the OP specifically requesting for this to not happen, the Beamdog haters can't not derail this thread.

To speak to the OP - none of Beamdog's previous games actually require the Steam client or Beamdog client to play (I won't say it's DRM free - that typically starts a whole different argument), and Beamdog's NWN FAQ specifically states the same is the case for NWN, so DRM free isn't a blocker.

The Beamdog client version is already missing Steamworks, and apparently the vast majority of the previously existing mod's work just fine on the Beamdog client version, so I don't think Steamworks is a blocker.

Beamdog stated that it will come to GOG, so I suspect it will, although, I'm surprised that it has taken this long already.

If someone hasn't bought it yet, I couldn't care less. They can wait for a sale.

This kind of thinking is the core reason why GOG usually is behind with everybody else with releases of most games.

No it's not. It's cringeworthy. Really... really... cringeworthy. Apart from the fact that they got the original VO actress for BG2 Imoen, it's god-damned awful.

Cringeworthy is most of the original game. and god damned awful is the official BG1 expansion

Oh no, how can there be any difference between "other" platforms and this one. It's thanks to this attitude this site has gone down the crapper. Pre order, Indev, regional pricing, client, social, online only, mobile ports, and all the other industry rubbish.

and games! they release video games!

THE HORROR

I mean, what a tough choice - to introduce regional pricing or lose deals with major publishers

almost as tough of a chouce as choosing to NOT buy pre orderds or early access games for instance.

It's almostl ike you guys who don't want GOG to evolve and change to meet the competition standards simply want GOG to DIE.

What, this trail of paedo mags, pre-orders, mobile ports, and other assorted shovelware. Oh the pleasure. And not to mention we should be so thankful of the price updates, Just a quick look at the front page:
Coming zooms
Season passes
Sales (or not really)
Online multiplayer
Wow the improvements are just non stop!

I don't know how you see TotSC like that. It was critically well received and debuted at no.1 in PC Data (market research) sales. Indeed it sold over 600,000 copies by 2003.

Games are coming soon? Games that have online multiplayer?

The end is nigh!
Keep it on topic rather than an excuse to lay waste to Beamdog please!

why is it shocking? It features great deal of extra content unavaible elsewhere. Minus the soundtracks, the price isn't that far fetched.

Sure, it's a price of a new AAA game, but you don't have to buy everything. I am going to buy the package once it's around 50% off though, mostly because I've already played the original campaigns and modules around 3 times.

So according to you the gog edition of nwn does not have these content ? how can you even morally support them selling in game faces ?? for a rpg this old and modded to death ?
https://store.steampowered.com/app/744680/Neverwinter_Nights_Heroes_of_Neverwinter/

I have finished neverwinte nights 5 times so yeah pretty happy with the gog version, they can sell this over bloated enhanced edition for those who want it here but not at the cost of nwn original getting bundled with it.

Pirates of the Sword Coast, Infinite Dungeons, & Wyvern Crown of Cormyr are also enhanced ?
https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/module/bioware-premium-modules

Cant see them charging them full original prices without any reason
